Not sure what’s wrong.. also More about elephants foot?

I have seen a thread but no pictures. Just wondering. Does it look like a withering stem almost? More brown than green? Or is that excess nutrients? Had someone take care of my plants for a couple days while I was away. Now I’m noticing some brown on the stalk. Did they water too closely? Too many nutrients? Or what is this elephants foot?

Worst thing you can do is let someone take care of your plants for you. Seems like a lot of people have issues from that.
