looks like you have root disease most likely from not letting the pot dry out enough between waters

does light distance matter when i can control intensity?

Light distance and intensity are the same thing. Both can control the intensity. So you should find proper distance to intensity and read the plant for light stress. If she stresses you adjust one or the other. And distance is less stressful and doesn’t set you back to potentially getting to 100% on your lights in flower.

It does, in a very specific way. Let's say we have two tents, which both have 800 ppfd measured at the top of the canopy. In Tent A, the light is hanging 12 inches above the canopy. In Tent B, the light is hanging three feet above the canopy. The lights are the same model. Obviously, the light in Tent A would be dimmed lower (pulling fewer watts from the wall) than the light in Tent B, which has to put out more light for the reading at the canopy to be the same. Here's the difference from the plants' point of view: Let's say we want all our buds to finish between 400 and 800 ppfd. The light penetration, and therefore canopy depth, will be greater in Tent B, with a more intense light source hanging higher.

my first thought was PH lockout but my POS test strips said PH 6.2
i bought i PH tester and it read 8.1
PH in soil shouldn't be an issue but i flushed anyways with 6.5
does gaia soil not buffer PH as good as fox farm maybe?

Why are you flushing living soil? I don't think you understand it

Thanks for allowing us upstairs it was cold out there Lol. Nice Vedio posted here thank you for posting.

OMG that is basic math. Measuring my nutes this way is so easy to get my mixed nutes exactly to what they need.
I use 4 syringes with no sharp needle points a 3ml a 5ml a 10ml and a 15ml makes it easy and very accurate when measuring my nutes.

Your welcome.
I had to watch the video about 6 times and just played with it until I could do it without thinking about it, This video changed my life as a grower. Now with this video, you can keep an eye on your E.C and know if you are over or under feeding. Hope you enjoy it as well.

yes i know not to flush soil or water until runoff, but i thought i had PH lockout and that's how you fix it.
trust me it killed me to flush but had no choice

I would not ph my soil, you start taking too many readings and we tinker. It's a human weakness to not be able to leave shit alone....
Living soil is a water only set it and forget it medium. After proper creation it's no maintenance.
If you want to tinker and approach is sceinetfically then run hydro or coco. That would be absolutely perfect. Living soil is the not the place to do it imo.
Living soil is a low maintenance, low input grow style, a lot of hands off.

everything i've ever read or have been told lead me to feeding dry amendments after 6 weeks or so and then every 3-4 weeks.
and i read a lot. then after reading your response i typed in "do i add nutrients to living soil" and BAM! everything said not to.
everything depends on the wording when you type in questions to google.
thanks bud.
your now my new BFF, what do you want for christmas?
lol

Exactly. Plus, the light in tent B uses more watts and produces more photons per second (PPF) which are released into a closed highly reflective chamber, and many scientific studies now show an approximate linear increase of biomass with this metric.

A related benefit, especially with lights that are a lot smaller than the tent footprint, is that you get better horizontal coverage as you move the light higher. You can see it in most manufacturers' PAR maps.

Well... I think there's confusion between what is meant by 'living soil' versus 'organic' growing.

Is it political or the stupid climate bull shit? They are doing this to farmers international in the food chain supply where they want to eliminate nitrogen fertilizer. Mr. Castro from Canada and his green team are working against you eating and getting your medicine.

would you expand on that please?
LED light and under 700 ppfd in flower and no heat to speak of from the diodes, i don't understand how that could burn the plant.
all the leaves top to bottom look like this.

Because you have minimal leafs to show any deficiency or use as stored nutrients, she is showing it in the leafs available? It is possible that it is just a progressive show of deficiency. Maybe phosphorus deficiency. Which can be easy to have a lack of in flower. Especially if your Ph is not in the optimal range for it which is closer to 6.5.

Prolonged dryness of the soil between watering.
