im gonna be growing my first plants and my grow kit came with the general hydroponic nutes series and i also bought a bottle of cal mag plus. Can i be successful with just theses?

My advice is use half strength rates a little goes a long way . Good luck welcome to the farm .

5ml grow
5ml calmag/gallon
is whay I start at in coco, in dirt I go about half strength on the grow and micro to start
When they have been in flower for a few weeks I switch to
5ml micro
5ml bloom
5ml liquid cool bloom
A good tea like the one in my aact link in my sig every few weeks until mid flower will help you not get deficiencies
