Thanks...I hope so. I don't know if they're boys or girls yet.....fingers crossed I've LST'd some of the women. I've been looking for little balls or hairs but I just can't make it out. Will shoot some macros tomorrow and if you would be so kind as to help me sex them it would rule :)

The garden is going crazy! The Violator girls have just exploded into life, and a few of the WW are also really going for it. Repotted them into 6.5l pots and they are loving it - only 2 days later and I've got them growing roots out of the bottom holes already, and there was a good 20cm of coco to get through.

I'll post photos tomorrow, but the bottom line is my veg room is getting way too crowded all of a sudden - and I have something like 12-15 plants in the prop room...and no flower room for at least 2 weeks. What this means is that I'm going to have to cull or donate some plants, or put them outdoors or something. Time to get brutally selective in the absence of being able to sex them.

The LSTing is going amazingly and I'm bending my plants into some really funky poses. It's amazing how quickly they recover direction.

So...I think tomorrow is d-day. I want to keep the 3 Violator girls (known femmes) and a couple of the WW LST tests, and the lowryder....but all others have to make way. There are 5 G13xMMG that are ready to go to early veg nutes and under the MH, as well as 5x Trainwreck, that will need to come in there too at some point. One option is to veg stuff longer in the prop room under the 110w fluros, but other than that I'm going to have to slim down fast.

The reason why I have so many in the works was because I'm a nub - therefore I figured I'd be killing stuff or getting it wrong, and therefore would need a load of backup until I got it right. Well, things are going relatively well and I've got more plants coming through than I have space to grow them. If I could only sex the plants now it would make my life SO much easier in the cull.

Am babbling....smoking some green dust and shake from the bottom of a tupperware container that had the white russian in...and compared to that schwaggy shit I'm half stoned for the first time in 48 hours ;)

e2a: There's no sign of any difference in the greenness of the epsom salts treated plants. Two soil WW look significantly greener than the coco WW. A friend today told me that apparently Hesi Coco is heavier on the N compared to Canna. Need to check that out. My pH down is N-based so they're getting a little extra anyhow. Will post photos tomorrow.

Thanks PGW...it was the coco that made all the difference (or maybe just pot culture, not having to deal with a communal feed). It's grrreat...just need more space...

I've thinned out my veg room by taking a couple of WW outside. If they live, great, if they die, no biggie. Put them in my cold frame, so it'll keep some wind and rain off them and give them some kind of chance, without any hardening. They should be fine I reckon. The first shot in the photos is the before photo (looking more SOG than anything else) and the last one is the after photo.

I've only taken shots of the interesting stuff:

- bendz/LST tests, including my horizontal bonsai/extreme one...which better be a girl or I'll be gutted
- algae growth on my coco - what do I do about it? Is it a problem?
- comparison shot of two WW....one in soil, the other in coco...check out the huge difference in colour, even with my white balance all out
- roots already growing out the bottom of the pot - do I repot, or leave it a bit? Only went in there 2-3 days ago
- violator girls looking sexy :)

They look really good FF! As far as the root growing out of the container...no need to worry too much, they'll do that. If I were you, I'd pot up one more time for their final pot size, but you don't need to do it right away, just whenever you feel like it.

As for the algae growth...simplest cure is to get some more airflow to the top of the container to dry out the very top of the medium...think small fan, here. The other option would be an algaecide/fungicide product.

Nice comparison shot with the coco vs. soil.

Keep it up bro!!

Ok, mini update...

I had some pests..probably thrips...so I've taken 2 x WW and 1 x Violator outside to quarantine them just in case. I sprayed them with some bugkiller from B&Q (Scotts Bug Clear) and we'll see what happens. Also wiped down and cleaned trays and the inside of my veg tent with a peroxide and water mix.

Had another farmer friend come over to check out my setup. One of the Lowryders started to flower, but what I thought was a girl was actually a hermie....so I killed it and have buried it in the garden. First plant I've killed and I felt bad about it. Maybe I should keep the hermies somewhere at the end of the garden for seed? Apparently the LR's have a high tendency for hermies, my mate said...

Things in the veg room are good....two violators are looking big and lovely, and another WW looking and smelling female (no signs yet, but she smells like a girl to me).

Things in the prop room aren't so good. My plants were looking a bit crap, so I upped the nutes. DUMB. I've burned all my kids, so I'm flushing with pH'd tap water to resuscitate them.

Fingers crossed my electrical problems have been solved and I should have outdoor space by Friday. I now just need the money to pay for it all...and the cost of the flower room and eq.

EDIT: I also hot glued my cheap and extremely shit 15 quid B&Q cold shelter thingy at the corners. It now stays together and doesn't fall apart when the wind blows :)

I've heard it said that 90% of all plant problems can be remedied by a good flush. Ninety percent is pretty high, but none-the-less, sage advice. As you already know, you responded correctly with the flush. P.S.....I don't know why I keep trying to help you..lol...you really don't need it. Your doing GREAT Fast Forward!!

I love that a few of you are keeping an eye on me, you in particular....makes it less scary having a safety net of clueful people with me on it :)

Ok, so I now have space outdoors....no electricity yet....but the building is done :)

The bad news: the roof is 2m at one end and 190 cm at the other, which means I can't get my 2m tents in and top ventilated :( The med and small budboxes should be okay, but this really cocks up my plans for flowering. I can't get an XL budbox (1.2m) on the same side of the room as the vents I had cut are, and even if I could I don't think there's the clearance for top vents. Fuxx0red is the term.

Plan B: Build my own wood frame and staple plastic to it, old school style. Any UK ppl know which B&Q wood to use? Regular 2x1? I'm not that handy.... what's the cheapest and best size wood to use?

Indoor plants are really rocking along now. The burned up kids are all recovering well and will update this thread and my TW log once they're looking a bit better :)

Because I'm running out of space rapidly (due to no flower room yet) I went out and got another 2x55w fluoro (2 tube brightwing) to go in my prop room. Things will have to live in there for longer than I planned.

I moved outside a number of plants that were showing signs of thrip infection. They're loving the sunlight, but there's two very different colours in the WW still. Just to confuse matters more, 2 of the 3 epsom treated ones are lush dark green, and the other is lime green. Photo below to show what I mean. Is this a pheno difference?? Makes no sense to me...!! (EDIT: the epsom treated plants have a white label next to them)

The outdoor vio and the WW are looking great. Got a couple of males I think (small pots, but same size - massive internodes and huge stems). I want to bring the vio and one or two of the ww indoors, but am dead para of bringing in nasties. Have started to clone a couple to try to determine gender, to help my space issues.

Beautiful as usual FF!! And yes, personally I would say that you are seeing a difference in phenos where the color is concerned. It'll be much more apparent later on in flower.

Some shots of the rapidly growing indoor Violator girls (#1 and #3....#2 is outside). These were started on 10th July from seed, so about 7 weeks of veg...about 1 week longer than I planned but as you well know, I have nowhere to put them...yet....fingers crossed that changes in the next few days and I'll finally be able to flower these bitches :) (edit: they're in 6.5l pots now, will go into 11l pots when I move them into flower)

Thanks for stopping in guys and the good words. These gals are growing at the maddest rate now - every single morning I open the tent they seem to have grown 2"! And this is under MH.... need to get flowering sorted before I don't have the space to flower them!! The electricians are in here right now drilling and hammering away, trying to find a route underneath the flat from the consumer unit to the garden....so close now...

Joy of joy - electricity sorted in the garden.....now I need money and more weed, but nothing new there then :)

Also killed another lowryder today because it had balls. From an initial 10, I'm down to 2 - one I'm pretty certain in a girl - got two white pistils poking out. The other isn't decided yet...but that's 100% shit for seeds that cost me 40 quid!! I should have kept a male and a female to make seeds but I'm dead para of getting any pollen near anything else, and I need green bad.

Repotted a bunch of stuff....everything now in 13cm pots. MMGxG13 looking still crispy from the nute burn, but the TW, Pure Afghan and my mystery Reserva Privada mix seed are moving along nicely.

If I don't flower the violators and WW soon they're going to be too big to flower...they're growing SO fast now...over 2ft tall and piling on the pounds daily....

More photos when there's something interesting :)

EDIT: The mature veggers are getting EC 1.3ish of canna coco, hygro, rhizo, diamond nectar (fulvic and humic), the kids are getting formulex 5/l. pH 5.8 all the way.
Help me with the venting in the new setup plse!!

You made a good choice about not spreading pollen FF. It's a very difficult thing to control. Since I don't have room to be all professional-like indoors, I expect to end up with some stray pollen when I get to makin some beaners. SO in your situation of "really needing some green", I think you made the right choice. You can always make some beaners later.

As for your ventilation woes, I'm sorry I really can't help ya much. I've always had small-ish spaces and never have ran a carbon filter, so any advice from me would probably be wrong...lol.

The Sex Pistils \o/

Thanks PGW....one day I plan to use that small set of drawers as a sealed 'sex room' for a male and female lowryder....but that'll wait...

Update:

The last lowryder is a GIRL! So of 10 seeds, have 2 females. Not good...but at least that 2 plants that should give me some smoke in about 40-50 days time.

Have taken photos of both the girls showing pistils, an overview shot of one of them to show you how stretchy and male she looks (huge internodes - with snapple bottle for scale), and then inside my veg tent to show how packed it is, and how I'm going to be in deep shit if they decide to stretch 2x during flower..

The great news is this: a mate has put my flower room equipment on his credit card for a Saturday delivery! What a total geezer :) Got 4 x 11l pots coming too, so will repot the 3 big ones, leave for a few days to settle in, and then flick over to 12/12.

Have also posted a photo of the final design. Gave up on crazy venting schemes and will drill two new vent holes. Cost a bit more in doubling up the fans, and will only carbon filter the flowering room...but it'll be rudeness. Also had to take out the fan controller - will add one in when I can.
DR120, 600w HPS (sunmaster bulb, parabolic reflector) are the main bits.
