I just found a couple 10 lb boxes of Alaskan Humus in my garage. They're probably about a year old. Does anybody know if these are still viable for brewing up some hum-tea?

Only if it has white mold growing on it... LOL

Seriously, I can't see any reason it would truly go "bad" if it was packed away in a dry place. I'm gonna guess that a lot of the boxed/mined/natural ferts we see on the shelves were mined months/years before they were packaged and repackaged and resold...

probably only one way to find out. Brew some up!

At the very least it would still make a great soil amendment.

good luck

Hahaha Thanks S.H.
Thats what I thought. Its just that I remember reading from their website that they check their humus for biological activity every 3 months, so I figure maybe it could eventually go 'bad'. One would think the fungus would run out of food eventually.
