Once again, your issues are not the result of an initial N problem. The problem is an overall uptake issue stemming from a problem with P uptake. There could be many causes as Shady has posted. Here are some picture of N issues....the first five pictures are all N the last five pictures are P issues......P lock-out leads to a spiral of problems as Shady mentioned.....

Notice the N problems causes a yellow color but the leaves maintain their basic shape, they dont start to turn necrotic. This is most often seen when growers starve their plants of nutrients later in the growth cycle. The whole plant will have yellow leaves...

The problems with P look a little different, although the leaves are yellow once again. What happens to the leaf is different as it turns brown and necrotic along the edges and tips then crumbles up and has a burned look...Hope the pictures help to see the difference.

An uptake issue leads to problems with all nutes though...issues at the root zone are the best place to start looking for problems. also if your plants are locking out nutes then feeding them stronger amounts of nutes can even make things worse...

Take a look at this link and scroll down to the part on problems with Phosphorus.

Also the leaves that are effected are down, there is no coming back, only new growth can show signs of improvement.....

I might pull the plug and start over fresh......:worried

Here's a root shot for ya.

Here's a thought. What if root rot resides in the bucket. If your normal routine doesn't include a good top fed soaking with anti-fungal, then it may just be residing in the bucket the whole time. I know that I have poured through the top only once like that. Maybe it has to be part of the regimen daily when you first try to get rid of a rot situation, and for then for upkeep. Dunno, just a random thought.

Well, I'm really thinking you don't have full blown root rot and that the issue is definitely a lockout situation... Let me say that I had one of my plants in Round 1 get root rot... That shit was the most horrible, foul smelling, shit ever... The roots were brown and mushy. You will know that it's root rot cuz all the large fan leaves will deteriorate and just look like shit along with the shitty smell... IMHO, I'd really think you should give it one more week and see how the res change goes... Also Snowblind posted some good photos for reference... :thinking

P.S. The mistake I made in Round 1 was using ridiculously small pots on my ebb 'n flow table... And I was also periodically pouring nutes on top while the table was flooding... I was pretty much drowning and suffocating the roots... :itwasntme

I just finished up a new batch of nutes. Mixed the cal-mag at 5ml per gal first. I also started the Hydro Fungicide treatment as well again, just to make sure. For extra insurance, I top fed by hand treated water, so I could make sure that the fungicide gets everywhere. I plan on repeating that daily for the following week.

The girls look like better now that they have a chance to breath and some fresh nutes... I can't really comment on the Hydro Fungicide as I've never used it, but I'm curious what your PPM's were on the 5 ml/gal of CalMag... It should have been around 200 PPM before any other nutes were mixed in... :wondering

Shady,
try 380. I used 5ml per gal of Botanicare Cal Mag plus. 700ml for 140 gal. I didn't get the number on the water before, but normally it is 40-60. My RO is 20, combined with whatever residual in the system.

On that link you posted about VPD, they don't say how close to ride the numbers. Like if 60%rh would be your max for 80 degrees, then what would the minimum be?

Hmmm, I suspect that your calculated volume of RO in your res may be off... I have been mixing 1 gal jugs of RO several times a week for my different mediums and my RO starts at 13 PPM using the default 0.5 conversion to EC on my Hanna. I always shake the CalMag bottle before measuring 5 ml and the resultant PPM varies between 180 and 220 depending on whether I've mixed exactly 1 gal of RO... Using this as my baseline, I reverse the calcs to determine how much RO is actually in my 50 gal res when I filled it about 2/3 with RO... I determined that it was holding 30 gal at each res change. Once I knew this, the rest of my Base nutrients and supplements were more accurate... :thinking

As for the temps at 80 deg F... I would use those charts as a general guideline and not be to focused on following the numbers exactly. That being said I wouldn't go lower than 45% RH... :cool

Shady,
I shook the bottle before using. The rez if anything, would be over 140 total. The rez is 100g, and then after you pump it up to the buckets, it takes another 40 to get to normal operating level. I will try some tests tonight, and let you know more.

Snowbird,
the brand is "grow more". I typically have to ph up to adjust the batch at first right now.

four20, thanks. 4x 2k horti dual arc. This run is not so good. Lookin to the future...

Hmmm, I suspect that your calculated volume of RO in your res may be off...

One gallon RO started at 20ppm. Added 5ml cal mag + to the mix. 250ppm on the Hanna. I will just mix it to 200ppm in the tank next time, and record the amount.

Well, I don't get how, but I definitely have rot. I wouldn't say that the buckets smelled bad. I would say that the rez at most had an earthy smell. So there I was last night trying to figure out the reason for my plant's sad condition, and I have one of the lids really lifted up high so I can see the bottom of the roots. And there it was, staring me in the face. Funky brown on my roots.

Shit! Screw me! I have been using the Hydro fungicide as well. I gave them a big dose at once at 4ml per gal. I am doing the same today as well. I will keep up that dosage for a while and see if they bounce back at all. We shall see.
