on the right track

hey yall hows life?ok heres the deal im normally an indoor guy but i had some family problims come up & i had to move from kc to socal. now this being my first outdoor grow in socal i thought i was on the right track. plants are veggin just fine. now this weekend i had to attend a bike ride in bigbear & got to see a buddys plants, his are allready in flower, a good 3 to 4 weeks in. so gang is this normal?

Things have been kind of upside down lately. I've never done a grow in SoCal, just up here in NorCal, but I am familiar with Big Bear. In any event, it could be normal, but it depends on a few factors, like when he got them started, on what sort of photoperiod, whether they're clones or seeds, that sort of thing.
