soo 24 hours ago you got 4.3 with nothing amazing then hour before harvest you got 1.4 what happened? did the plant got scared? all the rest of them keep their numbers or are close to them. why would i just not harvest that day before and have same or better numbers than using the acid?

and if your numbers are amazing after an hour and shit after 24 hours doesnt that say its useless i will smoke it after a few days and your charts say with time numbers go down? does the acid eat them away?

First was the concentration used was 19,000ppm. Second, it was applied an hour before harvest so we are talking about a chemical reaction, not biosynthesis.

From what I noodled online, probably as far as the home grower wants to take this is crushing up an aspirin and adding it to a watering to trigger an immunity defense response. It doesn't offer the same benefit to cannabis as it does to tomatoes and peppers *that we know* - and with this new study and follow up ones, maybe we will get to learn a lot more about how SA and cannabis interact.

Exactly and the response was not significant, although statistically it was compared to control, it wasn't anything to write home about. As you and I know abiotic and biotic stressors all impact signaling cascades which in turn affect genetic responses. So perhaps there is merit in a more long term applied stress of SA, who knows. And as you state maybe follow ups will show more promise, again who knows. I personally think within the realm of practicality a grower can do more to affect their plants via much simpler means.

I am not sure if you realize this or not but I didn't do the study? šŸ¤£ šŸ¤£So let me fix it for you...

And I agree with you, as I said, the temporal, ie time, response doesn't warrant using this approach as well as the results themselves. Other simpler, more easily implemented ways exist to increase cannabinoids.

A good natural source of salicylic acid is Aloe Vera. I use Aloe fpj a lot with my living soil for it's many benefits. However this time of year i can only find Aloe in the produce section of Wal-Mart so know it's not freshly harvested as is recommended for fpj, so I question the efficacy of it. During the growing season their is a Spanish lady at our local farmers market every week that will harvest Aloe on the morning of the market and set it aside for me. Thinking about growing my own this season along with some Comfrey cuttings I've already started. But I digress ( sorry, have a good buzz) . My main point is fpj is probably a better source of salicylic acid than a man made spray.

Can you explain how you do with the fresh leafs.
I got aloe and can easily grow more

Sure , it's a staple in Korean natural farming and very easy to do. Basically you cut the leaves into small pieces and mix with an equal amount of brown sugar by weight. Put in a glass container with a breathable lid, i use a paper towel secured with a rubber band. The brown sugar creates osmotic pressure that draws all the good stuff out of the aloe. After a few days you strain the solids out and you're left with a brown syrupy liquid. Feed at around 1oz./30 ml per gallon. A quick Google search will give you a lot of articles and videos on that and a lot of other good stuff concerning knf. This year I'm going to do a lot more in this field. As soon as the fish start biting good im going to make my own fish fertilizer. Love the growing hobby, always new things to explore, never gets old. Also concerning the aloe all the women in the house will gather around and start rubbing aloe sap all over their face and hands, I've started doing it also, it's some good stuff and my skin needs all the help it can get.

You say brown sugar. Could that be for example brown sugar from sugar canes?

Yeah, from what I understand any kind of brown sugar will work. I use the cheap stuff from Walmart. Also forgot to mention after putting the mixture in the jar sprinkle a little more brown sugar on top and pat it down to make a "cap".
