organic nutes w/ chem?

I am new to this forum and im pretty sure this is in the right spot. I used to use fox farm way back and discovered organic lines gave me better results pretty quickly. While on the net ive seen a lot of people use the granulars from ff with decent success.

Ive always kinda wondered what my girls would think bout a straight shot every now and again in flower. I have always been reluctant to do this cause i spend a lot of time building up a nice soil-web to keep my girls nice n green.

I guess what im askin is does anyone have thoughts on this topic. Would this b a bad idea because of the degradation of the soil environment, or with such little time left in flower would a boost of nutes outweigh the soil webs benefits?
Any thoughts greatly appreciated

I was hoping to see a response to your question/concern. I was debating about the same thing. I am using Earth Juice for the first time (was using Fox Farm). The root system and stems are much larger this grow as compared to fox farm. The plants seem healthier after a ruff start. Anyway I am feeding the 9th week and decided to add FF beastie boy 0-50-30 (because I had some left over). After considering earth juice master bloom which has the same NPK numbers I used what I had. Not sure if I would do it again but I will let you know what results I get.

Hey man, welcome to the farm. Imo most synthetic nute line you buy is actually both synthetic and organic. most of the time the base will be synthetic and the additives will be both organic/synthetic or a mix. Only organic nutes try to bee only organic. I try to use best of both worlds, no reason to limit yourself. I read that higher than 50ppms of phosphorous will kill bacteria life, but I don't see anything but happy plants so I'm thinking a lot of them do survive. I don't see any degradation of soil quality, I think that's just hippy talk trying to be strictly organic, I believe more in organic ways than organic bottled nutes. keep it green man.

@grower 420. I see you have decided to go ahead and use the salt based nutes for mid flower. You'll have to let me kno what sort of effects u notice in regards to resin production and overall yield.

I started growing like 4+ yrs ago and my first few runs I used ff. I quickly heard of organics and once I saw results I was convinced. After doing much research on the topic of pros/cons of adding nutes w/ chelates late in flower opposed to straight organic till flush, I have found ff to be the epitome of salt based/ chemical nutrients(aside from big bloom which is dank). Ive found that some lines like say humboldt master a +b is a great alternative. That line utilizes chelators to provide near instant availability to the plant like ff but without nearly as much sodium as like tiger bloom(ff bloom). Therefore, perhaps the master line would make for a happier plant.

I have not tested my theory and it's completely possible I'm wrong However I feel unlikely. If anyone "in the know" could post their feelings on this I'd greatly appreciate. Sorry for the wordy post n overkill

@aerojoe Thanks so much for your input. I assume there are prob a lot of people who cheat (for lack of a better word) in terms of staying within an omri approved lineup. I totally agree with u bout the organic ways over organic nutes. I really can't wait till my upcoming move as I will most likely offer some chances for me to get some plants in the earth the way it should b.

@Danksmith I just wanted to let you know that I harvested this week. I used half strength miracle grow twice 2 weeks apart. I did this at a time that I was going to through out this lot because the plants where so sickly and yellow. I started to see signs of life returning fast, by the second application I had turned these girls around. As this was my first attempt with organics (Earth Juice and teas) and at setting up a closed room, I went back to the EJ feeding schedule for the rest of the grow. I have 6 different types of girls ( Sweet God, Jack Herer, White Widow, Blueberry, Northern Lights, Purple Kush) all grown from seeds. The White Widow, Blueberry, Sweet God, and Northern Lights, came out with good bud and trichrome production but it was late in the flowering phase. The Sweet God is very tasty. The Jack never did develop as I would have liked and the Purple Kush seems to have self pollinated (I only had 1 plant) on one branch as I have some seeds develop. This is not the best crop I have grown, however it will keep me and mine from buying medicine until the first crop of clones come in. Hope this helps.

I do exactly that. I mix organics with fox farm alllll the time. I love it. My plants love it more. And I use beneficials too with no prob

U sure you got enough nutes there?, lol. Quite the buffet Bubba, I like it.

lol yeah I use a lot of products but they all have a purpose. The plants definitely love it.

I run mainly organic with botanicare(99%organic) and Caps beneficials and then smash them with a Hammerhead/MOAB bloom boost combo for two weeks and then flush for two weeks at the end. Very nice results
