Growing out "organically" and I've decided to kinda go all the way with it this go round meaning sans (without) any bottled nutes with salt based nutrients. Which means no Cal Mag. I have two mixes of soil going on but the one in particular that I'd like to talk about is the reamended soil (Happy Frog) with added worm castings and Craft Blend (proprietary blend of dry organic soil amendments) The blends makeup is about 1% magnesium and 10% of Calcium. Thinking of adding a little Magnesium Sulphate next watering.
Organic soil grow magnesium deficiency maybe

Yes I would add Epson salt next watering

Going to sound crazy but if you live close to silty clay soil. you can mix a handful with a gallon of water abd water with it.. Now how often depends on your environment and genetics though.. I prefer using limestone stream water, it really makes them come alive after a watering

I'm gonna look into that one, thanks!

check out Celtic sea salt also
Lot of folks like myself at one point, are confused about Epsom Salt as an actual type of salt..but it's not.

Epsom salt is also known as magnesium sulfate. It's a chemical compound made up of magnesium, sulfur, and oxygen. Despite its name, Epsom salt is a completely different compound than table salt. It was most likely termed “salt” because of its chemical structure.
Epsom salt, named for a bitter saline spring at Epsom in Surrey, England, is not actually salt but a naturally occurring pure mineral compound of magnesium and sulfate.

Yeah that is correct.. I was referring to the Celtic sea salt if you were looking for other alternatives to supplement mineral.. Ive used Celtic sea salt before in a tea just experimenting and never saw any negative effects from it but only used a tablespoon to five gallons of the tea mixture. Which I make 90% of the nutrients I feed my soil with so I’m always experimenting

Same, think I have a liquid form of that Celtic salt, yellow bottle nutrients sells it (the Australian company) lot of stuff out there to try out. I had a bad grow with my OG Kush and am trying out this Bottled Kelp I grabbed from Amazon, supposed to be good with the macro nutrients, I dropped a teaspoon to the gallon and dropped a tablespoon of Epsom Salt and watered the ladies this pass weekend. Should be alright. I think I'll do a compost/EWC at some point soon .

Yeah kelp is wonderful to add.. I mostly just amend the soil with a mixture of ground dehydrated kitchen scraps and for watering if I feed it’s Fish fertilizer or a tea but mostly just water and let everything run it’s course, if a plant is struggling to thrive I’ll usually just cull it so I don’t have to take a chance on it herming from stress and pollinating anything else.. most OG’s I’ve been around either was heavy feeders on calcium or magnesium… my brother had a supposedly fire og that was a pig when It came to feeding

That's good to know about the OG, thank you. ground dehydrated kitchen scraps .. that I never heard of, interesting. Sounds like your composting in your soil? Do you grow outdoors in soil or indoors in pots?

Damn, the symptom shows up on almost every leaf, from top to bottom. Good luck.

Both i compost majority of kitchen scraps but I’ll save the peels of fruits and veg and dehydrate them and grind into a power for top dressing.. outdoors I prefer to go directly in ground in a 10/15 gallon size hole. I’ll add fish scraps and leftover bones etc to it in the fal/winter then plant after last frost come spring I much rather grow outdoors but I do autos indoors

I mostly grow out of 10 gallon fabric pots (and few Grassroots Living Soil pots) and I sometimes use cover crops (clovers, etc) to keep the top soil moist and chop n drop for a natural mulch layer (but not this round, trying the straw). I just read over the weekend that Chickweed can naturally supply your soil with magnesium. "Companion plants" is what you want to look up if your interested in this kind of stuff. Yarrow is another plant you might want to plant along side your flowers. Chamomile and Dandelion the same. You know I ordered some seeds of the Chickweed.
