Unless you have aged soil/compost with active Micro herds..you'd be crazy not to add a buffer like dolomite. Also if you're in a soil-less like peat..and your using "hybrid" or bottled "organics"..you'd be foolish not to adjust PH...well after your nutes have been mixed. o_O

The reason I bumped, aside from it being a good thread, is I'm curious about the claim that you should buffer your water prior to adding nutes. Since the nutes are gonna drop PH(usually), shouldnt you take that into account? Isn't it in fact ideal to buffer using nutes AS the buffer?

to add to that... do all these apply the same to ro water? I get lock out sometimes randomly so I'm just researching.
