Trying to run a simple fan on a timer and it's not working , I tried with a digital timer and it didn't work should I try with a numeric timer would it make a difference or fans are not met to work on timer .

Did you check the timer with other components to make sure the problem isn't with the timer itself?

Is it a digitally controlled fan that has buttons and makes beeps? does it have a toggle switch or a push button to turn it on? A timer just basically unplugs and plugs in a device. If your fan doesn't work after unplugging and unplugging back in, it probably won't work on a timer. Usually because digitally controlled devices shut down when power is lost and require a button push to re energize.

Just a basic toggle switch fan but the timer I'm using is digital, I'll try a numeric one in a bit ,gonna go pick one up

Before wasting the money on another timer try this…..plug fan directly into a wall outlet and turn the fan on. While it’s running unplug it from the wall and wait a few seconds and then plug it back in. Does it come back on? If so go buy a new timer, if it doesn’t come on the problem is the fan.

just throwing this out there but, did you set the timer correct? i always struggle with the digital shit, and sometimes with the manual ones also.
a basic fan with an on/off switch will work with an on/off timer always.
if the humidifier and dehumidier work with it i'd think maybe you hit a button or switch by mistake.
does your timer have a timed plug and a continuous plug and or switch on it?

also why do you want the fan off?

what’s the reason you need a timer for a fan..obviously your not using it in your grow room cause fans are run 24/7
