What you fail to understand Squig , is that I am NOT attempting to " convince" you of anything whatsoever.

And look , I'm really attempting the be nice about this , that said *please* do not hold up Junior membership in the NRA or indeed long term membership as being meaningful of anything whatsoever.

I'm a Life Member SO WHAT, the NRA has become nothing more than a worthless Lobby group. What I *am* however , and there's another thread you should read to catch up a bit...........IS an active competitor in F Class and other disciplines. Now think about that for a bit when you start attempting to convince *me* of ' what's WHAt ' with a given rifle or it's capabilities...Mmmmmkay?

Having been in the shooting arts for yrs it does qualify me as an expert the JFK thing did not go down as we are led to believe the odds of oswald making those shots are about a billion to one first off shooting at a moving target at that range takes thousands of hours to get good at choice of weapon and glass not mil spec so that makes it even harder then theres the angles of the bullet channels in the body they dont line up with where oswald was also the fact the the bullet holes are going the wrong way

You seem to think it'll just go away somehow.

It won't--Iran is a missile which is constantly gaining explosive power and accuracy. It's coming straight at America (or we're going to it, either way).

The thing is going to hit us--it's just when that is the question. Do we want it to hit when the explosion will be the greatest and will strike the closest to our heart? This goes for all of these nations where there is an every increasing number of people who would literally kill themselves to kill you and your kids. No amount of wishing things were different, or being politically correct, is going to stop the collision course.

Here's my thing: when I see a problem, I deal with it now, not later--and I certainly don't leave the mess for someone else to clean up, especially not my son or his sons.

If these people are hell bent on killing us or dying trying--I say we give the motherfuckers what they want.

They blew up our buildings--they killed our civilians. I bet you if we were doing the same thing to them (rather than the suicide bombers killing them trying to come after us)--they'd think twice about such things. That's my only point really. You fight fire with fire in war--not fire with pussy-footing.

Attacks on our country will continue until we become capable in the same way as our enemy. They have no care for their lives, or for the lives of innocents. Killing combatants isn't going to change that. It's sad to say, I admit it, but they won't think twice until people start dying that they didn't expect would die.

Until they lose something they thought couldn't be lost--they will continue to act as though their actions do nothing but promise them virgins in heaven.

You CANNOT WIN A WAR against such a combatant--I think that's been made painfully clear in Afghanistan.

While sqiggs and I disagree on many things I do believe he is rite about the Iran thing its not a matter of if but when it will happen and I would rather deal with them now then later and I would push that button if it would save the lives of Americans so future generation wont have to see the hell I have seen!

The burden of proof is on you, not I. The accepted course of events is what must be overturned--not the fringe version of them which is not accepted. I'm sorry, but that's the way things work in:

1. A democracy.
2. Science.
3. Adult conversations.
4. Logical debates.
5. The real world.

People don't just believe things because you say them. You need to demonstrate why your version of events is correct and the widely accepted one is not.

That said, who the fuck knows what happened with Kennedy. Fact is it was too long ago and our ability to do forensic work just wasn't up to snuff in that time. Necessary evidence to say one way or the other is lost to time, and the circumstances of that era are lost to many. It's not a mystery (and I'll admit there is mystery there) which is going to be solved soon--or likely ever.

As far as 9/11, I'm done discussing it.

If you want to create a false scapegoat for the pieces of shit who killed your countrymen, then you go right ahead and shove it on up your ass.

If you think I'm dumb I'll suggest we compare IQs and intellectual accomplishments. 10 bucks says you come out looking the fool, sir. Your guesses remain guesses, and that's not firm footing from which to call me out. You've offered no evidence whatsoever to sure up your claim.

Aside from that, I've nothing left to add to this conversation--which is precisely why I haven't involved myself in it for the last 4 months--and even then only marginally to briefly clarify a procedural point having to do with the supreme court--and hadn't involved myself in it for 6 months prior to that.

One thing i am is an expert on the relations between Iran and the USA. Americans have been told lies about many countries and what is at the root of the problem. Just like medicine treating the symptoms will not work. you have to treat the root of the problem. Fact is that the USA is a murdering lot and their foreign policy has killed millions of people in the name of $$ and resources. Iran was a Democratic country when the USA decided to topple the gov't with bribes and murder. Then installed a dictator to run the country and give them the resources they were after. I would advise all of you to educate yourself on the crimes commited to foreign countries in the name of "democracy."

Actually agree with you there dude (I was raised on this idea), but it doesn't change the fact that the burden generally is on the person who is the outlier to demonstrate that the majority is wrong if he actually wants something to be done about it.

Mob rule might not be how we were founded, but it is how things generally go. I didn't say that makes him wrong in his assumption--but it doesn't make me dumb for mine.

Sky high actually said something in another thread which is basically that the sheeplest of all the sheeple are the people who keep endlessly searching for the next conspiracy ad nauseum. I agree with that and it's a perfectly defensible position.

In the end we're all just talking opinion here, so none of us is wrong.

I will say that Iran is probably the one country out of the whole mideast where there is a large swath of their citizens who actually like Americans.

Growing up my favorite diner was owned/ran by an Iranian refugee--she was a wonderful woman and said that her family had never spoken ill of America as she was growing up--quite the opposite and that's why she came here.

I honestly put my foot in my mouth with some of my comments earlier in this thread and dirk pointed that out to me--so I wanna be clear about that.

I do think there are places which have really earned our ire by allowing, and really encouraging, anti-American sentiment. Pakistan comes to mind.

However there is a reason for everything.

I'm not suggesting that America is so great or something like that. I'm just saying that if it were some other country holding the stick they'd be doing the same shit. People put themselves to bed at night in this country (and others) with this idea that war is evil and that we should all just give peace a chance.

The truth is that shit hasn't really changed all that much from the 15th century. Those in power fight to keep it and those without it fight to undermine those who have it. Political correctness won't change that, in fact I think it blinds us to the reality of it.

I just don't think we should all be convincing ourselves that utopia is possible. It's not.

If its not us waving the stick and misusing it--it will be someone else. In the future it almost assuredly WILL be someone else, and what I'm saying won't seem so off base then.

While I understand your statement holds allot of truth but anything that saves american lives im all for and anything that will keep future generations from having to be sent away from their homes and families I'm all for and while we should not go looking for a fight we shouldn't think for one second that theres not people out there that want to cause as much harm to Americans as possible there are times its ok to throw the first punch when you know a fight is coming

A great offense does make a good defense but to rely on war for an economy to thrive is Capitilism at its worst, to capitilize on life should be an alternative. how to do that im working on it but i would love to hear others suggestions
