Outdoor Adventure in California 2020

Hello 👋. Please help me in my efforts to grow some quality bud. Encouragement and advice is welcome. Step One...dig a hole? I’m moving a couple holes to sunnier spots this year. Go big or go home, right?

Acclimating to the early spring sun 🌞 since popping. Supplemented by shelter and T5 lighting, total of 15 hours light. Shooting for second week of May to put in the ground. Fan blowing over the plants and under the lights.

Slow but sure. I have the soil in the holes. Now fixing berms around the holes. Tomorrow I add worm casting, steer manure, feather meal and bone meal. The plants are doing great 👍🏽. They will be ready to go when the holes are.

The berms are in. I just took dirt from the orchard to make them.
The holes are filled. I used 9 yards of locally sourced compost for 2 new holes and to top off 10 existing holes. I added some orchard dirt, mainly a clay to tie things together a bit.
next, I added about 400 pounds of worm castings, equal amount of steer manure, some feather meal for n in the later stage and some fish bone meal for p. Oh, and some oak leaf mulched in.
I have a total of approximately 30 yards of product in 12 holes, so these holes are big, lol.
I have a small tiller that I used to mix all of various layers.
Now I need to water in and level the dirt one last time if the water flow indicates. I’m not too good at eyeballing level.
The weather is going to allow me to get in the ground early. Shooting for tomorrow or Sunday.
So far, so good. Keeping my fingers crossed.

And they’re in and doing fine. Planted about
I am much happier this year with the seedling growth AND how they are doing in the ground.
A lot of prep goes into the holes by trying to get short term and long term nutrients into the soil in the right amounts.
Since planting, I haven’t done anything except watering.
Now I need to get long stakes into the ground so I can wrap cage wire. I’ve never used long stakes forsecuring cages, but Ihave taken a bit ofwind damage over the years.
We bought a bigger tractor recently so I can make bigger holes next year, lol. And maybe a bit of other work around here.
I got a 8 inch capacity wood chipper to run off the tractor so I’m hoping that will be big enough to get rid of our stalks at the end of harvest, lol. Gotta dream big.
My new pup, Sarge, is in the background. 8 months old Akita/Belgian Malenois. We got him at 12 weeks and he is a good boy but will run and ignore me given a chance.
Happy Growing! Any advice, please shoot my way.

Stellar. Those are going to be big beautiful trees near the end. Happy grows.

I’m in got my comfy chair n ice cold beer .... very cool set up loving the hole digger you got there .OD .

It’s been a busy year, I’m glad the holes were well prepared. I only gave additional nutrients once, some bone meal at the start of flower.
Just took the scope out today. Trichomes stalks are there, no amber heads yet, a good thing because our weather has been so warm that we don’t have any purpling of the buds yet...and we’re growing black dog, double black, purple Afghan kush to name a few. Our plants like a few cold nights before the colors bust out.
A few are 10 footers wide and tall, the purple Afghan kush only a 6 footer but everyone has some nice buds. A couple plants may have another 6 weeks, very sativa.
Enjoy.
