Definitely try to save some pollen. Remove all the plant material before storing the pollen, prevents moisture and reduces the chance of contamination/mold. I'm not an expert, i think GNick has pollen collection somewhere on his thread. The main rules are kinda like seed storage. Keep it dry, and cool in a dark place lol.
I've also seen guys make tea out of chopped plants and weeds to feed the plants. I'll warn you now that KNF rabbit hole is a deep one 🤣. All in the name of science!

Thanks for the well wishes, hope the same for you. I need to top the ladies indoors and get an update posted!

Thanks man, good advice. will see if i can find the collecting pollen part of @GNick55 thread. Now, get that topping done...lol! 😉

Google/AI told me this which seems about right except for the dried flour bit maybe(?) but will do a bit more research before trying later today or tomorrow.

"Quick Storage Setup for Tomorrow:

  • The Catch Tray: Lay out a clean piece of parchment paper or foil on a flat surface in that draft-free tiled room.
  • The Tap: Gently tap those dense pollen sac clusters over the foil so the fine yellow dust drops onto it.
  • The Mix: Add a 3:1 ratio of baked, thoroughly dried flour to the collected pollen (this absorbs moisture and stretches your supply).
  • The Seal: Funnel the mixture into a clean glass vial or small airtight container, drop it inside a ziplock bag with a silica desiccant packet, and stick it in the back of your freezer.
As long as you keep moisture out, that pollen will stay completely viable in the freezer for a year or more."

Well I moved the plants to the new house today, cue the very funny sight of the car full to the brim of leaves and flowers! 😄 Was v incognito...not.

Of course managed to snap the biggest branch on one of them but taped and splinted(?) it up so hopefully I caught it in time. Final positions TBD.

Same plant is showing a lot of single blade leaves at the top but is flowering. I wonder if that's heat or maybe light stress from the last few weeks? Other two are absolutely fine though.

I'll try and get her in the shade for the afternoon hours and also stick something (cardboard?) under the base as that concrete just sucks up and holds all the heat.

Well that's my pollen catching adventure over. The wife threw it out as thought was something the kids had setup! 🤬🥲😄

That bloody hurricane Marie or rather the edges of brought a full day of rain for me yesterday. Cue panic moving the plants under the eaves of the house and I had fans on them all night once it had passed through. A small band to come in next few hours then done.

Not good timing as all in flower and the Gelato 41 has already being getting some bits of bud rot in the last few weeks as so dense and she's nearly done, this is not going to help! 🙏

Well an update and it's not a good one.

The Gelato 41 is somehow riddled with caterpillars and have spent the last week chopping more and more off. Every single huge, beautiful and chunky cola has gone and I'm thinking the whole plant might have to go. Absolutely gutted. The Mystic Valley also has similar problems but trying to manage, plenty of chopping there as well though.

I don't think it's from the our garden (desert cactus style in back) and they were fine in our old place and I was spraying up till moved them. I sadly think they got in at neighbours over the road whilst there for a month. 👎🏽

Those bloody caterpillars must be higher than the sun! 🤬

The GG4 which I'm convinced revegged while at the neighbours as well now (they had a string of lights up and on all night which I hadn't really clocked!) is looking ok so far but see how she goes as she gets deeper in to flower.

But in better new, I've moved so now have my own back garden but also a huge garage to play with. I'm thinking it's time to get a bigger tent! Currently have a 5x5 but seriously tempted by a 8x8 or maybe even the 10x10, would be magic and give me so much more room to work in.

The dream is a proper environmentally controlled room within the garage but I think those dream will have to wait...for now. 😉

And the ravaging of my plants continues. ☹️

There's only a few buds left of the Gelato 41 now and tbh i think I might just have to accept the fate and cut her down. The Mystic Valley had some monster caterpillars on it this week and going the same way I fear. And lastly, the GG4 is showing signs and I found a tiny caterpillar on her today.

Got a very bad feeling I'm going to lose the whole seasons worth. 🤬

Too long of a weekend away. Should not have left fan running.

Hope it rehydrates

The chopping of the outdoor plague victims keeps going apace. All are suffering now as I suspected. I think I might just cut them all down as it's a little depressing (and upsetting) lopping chunks off every day. 😩 Just have to put it down to one of those things that happens to us all at some point. 👎🏽

And begin anew indoors with my new tent to cheer myself up. Have upgraded from the 5x5 to an 8x8 tent, was looking at the 10x10 and I could squeeze it in but I think a bit much. This'll give me nearly 3 times the space I had before (64sq ft vs. 25 sq ft) so very excited to plan it all out in there. Maybe one larger side for the plants and then a smaller area with all my equipment, feed etc and even some shelving! 😄

Space upgrades are great!
I went backwards a little bit. My 4x4 rusted away and the frame came down. Got myself a 4x4, but divided into the 4x3 and 1x4 sections

Aah, that sounds great @Greenjourneyman Separate sections definitely appeals to me.

I took the 5x5 skeleton down at the weekend along with getting some insulation board for the floor, sweeped it all up and taped the board together. Was gonna start building the new tent but time got away from me so hopefully during this week.

And here's the latest sad update from the outdoor lot. Two down, one to go! Was getting ridiculous so just chopped them. B0000000!

There are so few buds left on the last one I might not even bother with it but let's see.

The Gelato 41 and Mystic Valley had such beautiful buds as well that I really want to run them again indoors. So I think a quick auto run to Xmas or just beyond then will run those two photos again with some other ladies.

Well. as I've alluded to (moaned about...lol?) elsewhere they are all now gone from the garden. What a shame.

But onwards we will go, running some autos till Xmas/New Year then back to some photos after that, all in the new tent. I'll post some picks of it tomorrow but still in the midst of setting it up. Just need to work out the best way to plug far too many things in and hope to god it doesn't trip the breaker like in the last place!

I'll be doing the six autos in autopots and staggering the two sets of three by about a fortnight. Will be coco/perlite (70/30) and trying out Cropsalts this time round which looks a lot less hassle than the full Canna range I've used before so I am all for that.

Here's the first set of three:

24 Carat - Mephisto. I've been after this for ages (sold out everywhere but a good friend hooked me up), was their first ever strain and a pure Indica.
Citrus Bubblegum - Speedrun. A very happy, giggly sativa hybrid which will make a nice counter point to my usual Indica love-in.
Thumper Therapy - Mephisto. Part of their medicinal range, so a CBD/THC type 2, which I really do enjoy these days.

Ok, seedlings are popped and stretching like mad in the propogator.

And I finally got everything hooked up and arranged in the new tent today (see below). Just have to plug all the autopots and piping back together (fractured two ribs getting them off last week, what a moron and ow!)

And will prep the coco/perlite over the weekend most probably and get them in there asap!

So many possibilities with the new space going forward, I'm excited! 😎
