I cant get my ph to stabilize. I got up and down from a local hydro shop but it seems to suck. I ph the shit outta the water(capful at a time). I get the water to 6-5ish and within a hour its back up over 7.

I am running 3 gallon dwc and its just been all over the map with PH. What am I doing wrong it doesnt seem like it should be all that complex?

Airstones cause pH rises, especially when used in conjunction with a root stim like Rhiztonic - ime. I prefer to use a pump rather than an airstone to circulate and aerate the water without the associated jump in pH.

Also, if you're using hydroton, if it isn't washed thoroughly the red silt will cause pH rises. Just filter your res through a decent micron filter to get the crap out (or a coffee filter??) and it should help a lot.

no hydroton just perlite and rockwool. i am using an airstone on a pump but I didnt know it would mess me up. So what should I do put a sinker on my tube and just let it pump openly??

I am doing standalone buckets as well so the only res is under the plant.

How well did you soak the rockwool. It needs to be soaked 8-10 hours to get rid of the ph or it will keep going up till it syabilizes. And dwc's need to be ph'ed daily..

another thing to think about is that the smaller the res, the
harder it is to stabilize the ph, if you go up to bigger reservoirs,
that might help a lot.

also, if you are using multiple buckets, you might consider a
recirculating set-up, that'd probably clear things up for ya.

here's a few links that will help you understand the principles,
then you should know how to scale it up or down depending
on your situation.

as a disabled vet living on very short money i know what it's
like to have to do things on the cheap, that's why i'm posting
these links, and take a good look at the last one, i'm sure you'll
find something you can use.

What,What?

I just looked at a picture and under properties, then security it has a list of Admin,my name then SYSTEM and below that is add remove.
Do I click remove for each and that will give me a picture with no data?
Never knew that.
So how does someone pull that info off a picture once it has been uploaded to this or any other site?

That didn't work. How do you remove this data?

when you open the 'Properties' dialog box there are 2 tabs up top,
click on the one that says 'Details', then, down at the bottom
there should be a line of text that says "Remove Properties
and Personal Information
', click on that and another dialog box
appears with 2 radio buttons, choose the one that says 'Remove
the following properties from this file
:', when you click on that
radio button you will see that the 'Select All' button then becomes
active, click that and then choose OK and your pictures will
be safe to post. (these are the steps for Vista)

just so you know, most of the better sites will also strip all that
data from pictures before display anyway, if they didn't it would
be bad for business.

i'd be willing to bet that Logic has the site set up to do just
that as i have found this site to be pretty well thought out
and he's no dummy, he want's us to be safe here!
