Phantom 1000w De Light Help

What is the proper/reccomended spacing from lightbulb to lightbulb when using the Phantom 1000 watt DE lightbulb? Also, what is the proper/reccomended spacing from light to plant?

Has anyone experienced anything bad with these particular lights? Is there a better altnerative we should look into?

gavita is a better alt but if you already have them.5 foot spacing,lamp to lamp.keep at 24 inches or better like 36 in off the tops of the plants.i think they might have 2 dif hoods but the ones i always see have more spread and less downward throw so they can be run in slightly lower ceilings then a gavita.i personally like the 4 x 6 pattern of the gavitas,no exposed cable from lamp to ballast,and their controller is the shizzle.
