Phantom Ii Ballast And Flips Fyi

OK folks we all know that not all electronic ballast work with a flip but the MOST TESTED ballast on the planet doesn't either "P.O.S.". the older phantoms no problem! old ass cheap electronic or old style magnetic no problem! apparently they are more interested in over powering your bulbs. I for one use don't abuse my equipment. if you need more light hang more lights.
contacted hydrofarm. 1st they have heard of the problem! Most tested MY ARS!


solution is simple and I have the timers but WTF the purpose of a flip is to not shut down the ballast for 10 minutes.

I've run flipboxes for 6 years, I always power down the ballast before flipping. It easier on the electronic equiptment. I've had trouble with every major brand lumatek, quantum, solistek, if you flip them with power on them. Sometimes they would flip no problem and sometimes they didn't want to fire a bulb.
