Plants are doing great. The Blue Kush isnt growing as good as last time but Im going to give it some time to see if they turn around. I think it was caused by the Snow Storm Ultra. I got clones from each mom in the room sexing and so far I have 2 males, 2 females, and 2 undetermined. I am going to move the Kolossus out and continue to flower it so I can collect pollen for my first breeding experiment. If its ready in time, Im going to breed it with the Blue Kush and the Piss. And now onto the update, I hope you guys like bud porn...

And here's the sexing clones, The Kolossus has been my most vigorous healthy plant of the 6 seeds I planted and Im really looking forward to breeding with Hi. The plant Also has excelent structure and flowered fasterthan any of the others.

Thanks a lot. I am new here any you were the first person to comment. The room is doing good, but it can always get better, I still have upgrades to do. I am hoping the breeding goes well, I have never done it and dont know what to expect. If you have any tips or pointers it would be much appreciated. And as you can see, there will be a ton of pics of it no mater how it goes. I actually have another update to post, so stay tuned.

My actual goal is to improve on the Blue Kush's bud structure/density and increase yields without taking too much away from what the strain already has. I am going to be breeding it with a top quality male of Sannie's Kolossus. I thought it was a good choice for what I was going for. The male it self was the fastest growing, most vigorous plant of all the beans I poped from Sannie. It also rooted the fastest by days out of the clones I cut. To top all of that off, it had exceptional node spacing and flower structure. My real question is, to do this right, do I pollinate the Kush and collect the seeds and stop there, or do I then grow out those seeds and pick the best and continue to pollinate those with the same pollen, and repeat this process untill when? I am a quick learner and do tons of research, but when it comes to breeding, everything I have found has been pretty vauge.

hey Integ:smoke
you hand harvest the first few open sac's but once they get going all you will need to do is hold the plant over a table and thump the stock, then scrape up the pollen with a card of some kind...but for now just put a small container under the open sac's and tap the top of them, thae sac may fall in the container but dont worrie about that..

If you didnt notice, Im starting to get a little purple on the Piss. I dont know if its from the strain or the snowstorm.The buds feel super dense, like really rock hard. I am keeping an eye on the trichs, and I expect the Piss to finish up in the next about 2 weeks. The Blue Kush is finally starting to put on the weight a little. Thanks jaws. Its hard to sit in there and not just lick them or something. THey smell so good, its such a tease right now. I wish I could get some green crak. Ive head about it so much but never found a source. Im glad you like it, seems like you are one of the few, I dont get too much traffic over here yet. Guess I gotta step my game up some.

I did my breeding experiment yesterday. I collected pollen, which was a lot harder than I though it was going to be. I read to just hold a piece of paper inder a branch and shake it and you shoud get tons of pollen, but that wasnt the case at all. I had about 10% of the pods open, but when I shook it nothing fell. Then I read somemore and the said to wrap a bag around the branch and just let it fall and you should have a lot in a few days, but it got all moist in the bag and I didnt notice any pollen and if there was any it would have been contaminated by the moisture, so I finally just broke the main stalk and left the plant haanging over a shelf I wapped in mylar, let pollen fall on it for 2 days, and then just scrapped it into a film canister with a piece of paper. From there I got my supplies to pollinate my Blue Kush that are growing in the flower room(Brown paper bag, scissors, duct tape, pollen in film canister, and a paint brush).

I went in and made almost an envelope around the 2 branches I wanted to pollinate with the paper bag and tape...

Then I shut off all air movement in the room(1 fixed fan, 2 oscillating, and the a/c) Then I carefully opened up the film case on dipped the tim of the brush into the pollen and applied it to the pistils...

I was very careful not to make any jerky movements while handling the pollen and brush, but Im sure a coule of grains of the pollen might have gotten loose, but I wont know for sure until after the harvest. Then I carefully taped the bags shut making sure to move them as little as possible(wasnt easy, there has to be a better way)and have left them for the night. I also left all of the fans off but turned the a/c back on. I plan on leaving the buds wrapped for 2 days and then opening the "envelopes" and spraying them down with water to ensure the pollen wont pread once opened. At that Point I will turn the fans back on.

This was my first attempt a breeding so any input, critisism, or comments would be much appreciated. I hope I did it good enough to work, but I wont know for a few more weeks. I will be sure to update about it at harvest to let you know how the ones I did turned out and if I accidentally pollinated anything else. If anyone has a better way of doing this, I would love to hear about it, It was a lot more difficult to do than I expected, Im sure a dedicated room for such things would be much better, but thats not an option right now. But it might have been easier if I wasnt royally f'ed up on hash cookies when I did it, but who knows...

ok first off ya you made that way harder on your self then need be, on the papper bag deal you should have just bought the bags NO TAPE NO CUTTING none of that...

you do know seeds take about 6weeks to rippen, not sure how far along you are with those but if you dont have 6weeks then your breed this time may have been for nothing...


the other day i ask you for a pic of your male, you never showed one....i would have liked to look at your male to see how far along he was, its clear by what you said that he was not yet ready to be harvested...TEN open pods does not mean he is ready, not by a long shot bro...

ten PODS OPEN means harvest by hand at best, you should have placed your FILM container under the pods and taped slow and easy not a piece of papper....

will the male is READY you can hardly touch him with out POLLEN flying in ALL direction, do you still have him around???


when the time comes i will do a male harvest in my thread so you can see how I DO IT.....i'll do an early multi hand harvest of PODS and then later A FULL PLANT POLLEN HARVEST.....

to tell if the breed took keep a close eye on the hairs around the pollenated area, if they turn colors and begin TO WILT then you know your breed took...

if your late in breeding {which you might be} the buds could already have the coloring of hairs if so just look for the hairs to crinkle and look like they have been singed..

all you can do now is wait, also when you go to spray open the top of the bag and spray down BEFORE removeing the bag completely.....and ALSO REMEMBER to be very very very careful spraying/misting while your lights are on, 1drop and bam your light will blow...

Thanks Jaws. It was more of a trial run and I plan on doing more today or tomorrow. I can still try to get a fresh pic of the male, for your refrence. All of the pistils on the plant are still white and there is about 5 weeks to harvest, so letting it go an extra week would be no big deal. I am removing the covers today, so Ill get to see if it took or not, but if not, Im dooing 3-4 more brances, a couple more with the Kolossus pollen and one with the cheeseberry male I got just to see what I get out of it. I know regualr lunch bags would have worked better, but I was just working with what I had. It was either cut up the paper bag or use a plastic one and I wanted the branches to be able to breath, so I opted to make my own. I still have the male obviously, and I just bent all of the branches so that they are hovering above a sheet of mylar, so I can get it more easily and put it in the film canisters. Thanks for your help and as soon as I finish fixing my buddies brakes I'll get that pic for ya.
