Boy did I get lucky today. Big storm and it brought a bunch of hail that was almost an inch thick. Verified sightings of golf ball size hail on the other side of town. Glad it was a little smaller at my place. I was lucky enough to get the ladies under my little overhang on the back porch but they still got nailed. Luckily nothing too bad. Only a few leaves off as far as I can tell. Disaster averted. B8KD

Plants attacked by hail storm

We had dime size hail last week and it did a number on my veggies breaking branches off tomatoes and the cukes looked like they were blasted with buckshot.
Glad your ladies made it thru!

Get 4 pieces of bamboo, steak them in a square around the pot. Cut a square pice of clear plastic. Twist the ends and zip tie to the top of each piece of bamboo. It will protect the plant from any further storms to come. Make sure you have a slight angle to one side for rain and hail to roll off. Last ears plants, I used weed ground cover. It worked great.

Should I cut the leaves that got damaged by the storm? Snip them off right behind any damaged sections? Also lost a couple small branches but nothing major thank god. First time I’ve had to do this so just want to make sure I’m cutting in the right place. Took a pic of where I think I should cut behind damage. Just looking for confirmation from someone with experience.
