Please help me understand what’s going on with my plants. Switched over to coco from rock wool and I’ve been having a lot of issues with the plants getting stunted after about two weeks of nice growth. They often turn yellow and with leaves fading. New leaves are swirling. Temp is about 80f and 60% rh. I have plants under a gavita 1700e and a photobio that have same issues.

I bought the cheap bricks from a local garden center. The bricks were hydrated then soaked in tap water. I have 180ish ppm tap water and the water after 24 hr soaking is about 300ppm. The coco were drained then buffered with cal mag twice with 1.5x dose.

They’re in 1.5 gal pot and are fed with jacks. Nutrient is about 900 ppm. They’re hand watered once a day with a bit of run off.

I thought they’re having issues with Calmag so I foliar sprayed with epsom salt 1 tbs per gal couple hours before lights went on today.

I’m not a coco grower so I can’t help you there. But if you can, posting a picture or two of the whole plant will help people who do grow in coco identify your problem faster. Night shift can be a little slow so have patience. Happy growing ✌️

Even properly buffered coco will need extra CalMg, especially under modern LED lights. Foliar feeding won't do it.

I think I see some perlite in your picture... To what ratio did you add perlite? I usually go with 60/40 coco/perlite, but I was ebb and flow and needed it to drain quickly for frequent feeding. 70/30 minimum in any scenario with coco, in my opinion.

Also, you did not mention pH...

Jacks cal mag special already have cal mag but I also supplement with extra cal mag. About 3ml per gal of botanicare’s cal mag. Does this sound too low? The ph solution going in is in the low 6.

I have a bit of pumice stone. Maybe 9-1. It’s not a lot.

There is a full shot of the plants. I took them outdoor to take the photos

I don't see anything about PH. Most coco issues are PH related. Ph is off, or not feeding frequently enough, the plant can no longer absorb the nutrients it needs, so people add more cal mag, when the plant cant even take it.
