I currently have 6 plants growing outside, one is flowering and the other 5 are just beginning to flower, so my mind is turning towards the next phase of things - drying and curing.

Carrying this out in the house is a definite no-no so I am left looking at options, I have a detached garage that I can use, however it is not climate controlled. Currently in there it is 68% humidity and about 80F, the garage is a little over 1,000sqft, while it would be nice to have the whole thing climate controlled, for now that is not an option. Since I just have the 6 plants, I am looking at getting something like this, actually 2 of them - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09KM5G1Z...psc=1&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9ocXBfc2hhcmVk cutting one side to join them together as a single unit (I can use duct tape to seal it) and then either picking up a small portable air conditioning unit to control temp and humidity, or using a fan and dehumidifier.

I do have an attic space above the garage that in theory I could use, but I suspect the temperature up there is going to be a good chunk higher than below, which would rule it out. Although I could still put the greenhouse up there and it would keep the plants in the dark.

Does using the greenhouse sound like a solid plan? first time growing so far has gone well and I am now getting nervous about potentially screwing things up.

well you could just build something to cover the plants from rain and to be able to hang whole plants upside down, leaving all the leaves on,.. until dry than dry trim,.. trim over a 149 micron screen or use a trim bin to collect all the mature heads that easily fall off,..

Not a bad idea, I have some lumber from other projects that I could potentially make a simple A-frame out of. My concern though would be that while I can protect from rain, I would not be able to maintain a consistent humidity, right now outside is 83%. If maintaining the consistent humidity is not such a big deal, then I might go ahead with drying outside.

I may still look to set up an inside greenhouse with controlled environment, but at least if humidity variations of potentially 30% or more throughout the day are not an issue, then it is not such a pressing issue.

i hang my outdoor plants to dry in the sun room, never any issues with taste etc, least nothing serious. here

Put a tent in there

Im in the same boat right now! Just cut everything and was trying really hard to give the buds optimal conditions (as i have never had that privilege) so here I am. Given my two past experiences, id say if you can keep some air movement where ever you decide to hang them you will be ok (optimal? No) ok? Yes! Keep in mind my dries were for outdoor runs and this was at the end of the season (temps and times were way different than now) also our region could be all the way across the country from me! : ) try and take a few deep breaths and if you get caught up in your head hop on here and we’ll ground you! : ) dont do like i do! Get in a tail spin and start undoing what you’ve worked hard on doing!!! 😃✌️

Hmmm I do have a tent, but not sure it will be tall enough. While I have 2 plants that are pretty small, the other 4 are well over 36" tall I believe.

Yeah, right now I just have one plant fully flowering (might be an auto, it stayed smaller than the others and is way ahead in flowering) so it could be that later in the year an outdoor dry may make sense. I am in VA, fall temperature when the other plants are likely to be ready should be better than the cauldron of humidity currently.

I like the idea of being somewhat more in control though by drying indoors. We'll see, maybe I can dry 5 indoors, 1 outdoors and compare results of nature vs controlled environment.

No doubt! : ) I was just out in the shed and was griping over a few degrees fluctuation in humidity! 😂 im a weed drying snob now 🤦‍♂️😂 good luck! Let us know what you do/figure out! : )

Ordered a plastic greenhouse yesterday, should be about 25 sq ft, assuming that the auto will be in and out of the greenhouse before the photos, that should give them about 5 sq ft each for drying. I also picked up a wireless temp / humidity sensor and can set alerts for both, dragged my dehumidifier out and made sure that still works.

Only thing left to do now, is wait for them to be ready to harvest.

So how did drying in the tent go for you?
