Please help identify this pre-flower

The start of flowering can be a confusing and hormonal time for the plant, occasionally it will make undifferentiated or just strange preflowers.

Did a bit of research into common mutations and I think this is what is called "Leaf Buds". New buds will randomly form on the plant, not just on the branches. This makes sense as I have been pinching off new growth multiple times in spots I have already removed it. Only on this plant too. All others, the pruned new growth never returns.

Leaf buds are a cannabis plant mutation where buds appear randomly around the plant and not just on the branches. While this mutation is absolutely rare, there’s no severe harmful result or risk for the plant.

These buds can add a little extra yield and a lot of curiosity to a plant. They’re not as potent as traditional buds, but their presence can be a sign of a healthy, vigorous plant with genetic quirks.

I wonder if anyone has tried to breed for this trait... This particular plant has had it happen at least 3 times during veg and many times during flower if I count all the little growths I plucked off. During veg, they grew into normal branches, 2 of which ended up getting pruned as they didn't grow to canopy height. The other branch is the one with the pre-flower being monitored here.

I'm thinking that if this particular branch ends up with seeds (I hope not, but also have 3 other plants there with chances to herm and pollinate) I will keep them and see if they also grow with this mutation. Maybe try and breed a strain that has double branches form with every fan leaf. If that works out, then try to breed in the "Whorled Phyllotaxy" mutation and get 6+ branches at every node.

That little beeotch was being a "Pat" for sure and when I see that happen and they finally reveal them selves they usually wind up being a Patrick, not a Patty. The always easy ones are four "thorns" at a node. Then you got your girls with a fat calyx and the first time I ever saw one of those I thought it was male plant balls.

About 4 days ago I started to monitor a pre-flower on a plant already identified as female. The node in question has twin pistils on the nodes above and below it.

What are you using to capture that photo... I want one !

Cheap handheld digital microscope. Link to the exact one I am using. It definitely gets the job done.

Edit: For reference, most of my images are at 50x-100x as it is much easier to get into focus (the camera is fixed focus so no adjusting it per magnification). If you have a steady enough hand, or are looking at something stationary using the stand, you can get up to the 1000x with image in focus.

It’s still a bit early to tell, nothing absolute yet, but if I had to hazard a guess, I’d lean male. You should know for sure within a week.
