If they're in a warm tent (water above 70ยฐ) more frequent changes will be necessary. I did a bunch of kratky experiments last year and if the water doesn't stay cool it gets funky really quick.

How about dropping bubblers in the bottles. I realize it's no longer officially a kratky but the plant doesn't care. If you're dealing with warm water issues it might be necessary.

Not even about the oxygen at that point if there's air roots above water in the top of the jar. It's the rot.

How quick? Like every week? My grow room is around 75-80 most of the time.
Yes, but before they grow roots it won't be a lot BUT, before the roots start you need to keep it moist so keep an eye on the water level daily. Once it roots you want the water level to drop as the plant roots needs oxygen too.

Once you get one going this will all make a lot more sense and you'll find it simple to keep plants in this way.

On a side note I don't like using canning jars (1 quart) as I feel they're too small, although if you change nute water once a week that may help.

This has been one of those grow revelations for me and can't believe I didn't try this years ago๐Ÿ˜‰

This would help and I've been thinking about it for some time. 1 gallon plastic jars would be perfect for an air stone but then it would become 3 and then 5 gallon buckets hooked together with 3/4" PVC pipe and then my greenhouse would look like @Florida_Mike grow tents๐Ÿฅฐ Hey, wait! I've been thinking about doing just this for about a decade. Even digging holes in the garden for buckets that would help insulate them. I could grow in buckets in the greenhouse and then when ready to flip move the plant/basket/lid to a prepared bucket in the ground. Been thinking about it for a long time, still just a dream๐Ÿ˜Š

For me this is just about keeping moms and saving space. My moms use to take up a 2x2' area each and I was keeping 2 each of 4 moms that took up half of my entire greenhouse. I had little space left for vegging. I've opened up 7 of those 2x2' spaces since moving to Kratky bottles. HUGE difference for me.

I love that 6mil stuff! Saved my grow last year sept/oct : ) planning on busting it out again!

How do you secure it to your green house?

Just with clear packing tape and a white duct tape. Aslong as the PVC is clean and dry it works like a champ.

I had wrapped it with what I had which was 0.7 mil I would use to make clean areas at work and that's in tatters now so time foe new๐Ÿ˜‰

I really don't need more than the dozens, PLURAL, of seeds I was given but had the space (not really๐Ÿคฃ) and time and I do like breeding these plants and keeping genetics clean and continuously improving this piticular strain, which I've wanted. So there's that.

My Afghani Primo (AP), GDP x BBHP is knocking my socks off. But whoever heard of someone wearing crocs and socks๐Ÿ˜… Get real.

I came across a Folgers can full of a small AP and my fingers were black and sticky breaking up that bud, and feeling a lot less pain.

I wish I would had started tomatoes 2 months ago. The pepper was a salvage of a rat bitten off seedling. Yeah, growing outside you've got mice and rats and gophers and birds and all kind of nasty bugs and wee beasties.

Common Cali Alligator lizard. They got teeth and bite hard. I talk to him and he freaks out and runs under the pots. He didn't the first time as you can see. We'll just have to see where this relationship goes๐Ÿค—
