Cool place. This is several hundred yards down a hill from the main house.

They even have an arena.

They have 7 horses. I have to install a 2" pressure regulator tomorrow so I'll get some picks of the horses. Beautiful animals.

You know I got a few bags.
View attachment 876614

I'll get more tomorrow with more room as it will be an all day job so I won't have to carry everything.

Gotta share this.

Velvet Queen sunflowers. There's a flower stock at every leaf stem. 2 dozen flowers per plant.
View attachment 876617
I've got 3 of them so 70+ flowers. I'm sure some will be small but who cares.

That’s a pretty damn nice lookin horse barn there. I’ve gotta say that the horse barn for which I have access to manure is real nice like that as well.

And the sunflowers, they look beautiful! Are sunflowers hard to grow? Seems like it would be pain to harvest the seeds! I’ll have to share some pics of the family garden, this year it’s gotten huge. About 150 tomato plants, few hundred each of pepper plants, potato, garlic, a lot of cucumber. A flat each of beets, kale, different salads.

I have to fight aphids on corn and didn't plant any this year. Folks had a garden and granny grew roses. I started by 10 at home and had a garden in 5th grade at school. Always came easy. Grew 25lb watermelons a few years ago. They take lots of water, pumpkins too. California charges us an arm and a leg for water these days so I have to space them out to every few years.

I’ve been in the garden since a child as well but I am definitely not producing 25lb watermelons holy shit! That’s impressive.

I was hoping for 100 tomatoes this year, sitting on 30. May get there as I've got two celebrities 8' round and can take some nice big clones and have 6 Mortage Lifters, 2lb fruit that I plan on cloning and some cherries. I should get to 50. Usually do 2-3 dozen every year. Got 5 jalapenos and 3 Serrano seedlings that need a home, we make 100lb of salsa every summer. Got onions and cilantro ready. Nothing like growing your own.

Those pumpkins are close to 100lbs, took 2 people to move, can't get a grip around 'em. Had to move 'em with a dolly and wagon. Gave one to the kids down the street. You should've seen their eyes light up. Priceless.

You must make some killer jack o lanterns. Those kids moms were probably shocked hearing about a random dude with a Wagan gave them a 100 pound pumpkin LOL

Dug up the line and it's 1 1/2", client bought a 2" pressure regulator. Cut out the old and will have to work another Saturday.

Took the horses carrots and apples. They love us.

Another overcast week.

Only sunny one day this week. Even rained last night/early this morning.

I did get 7 more bags of manure and will get more tomorrow. The first job I did for these people they gave me a small plant

The flowers are interesting.

I put it by the pool but will have to find a permanent home.

It's growing but no flowers yet.

Got pumpkin seeds planted, 8 pepper 1 tomato seedling planted and got seeds for these today.

Took this pic last week at another location. Got seeds for a yellow and an orange and planted.

Also got some cuttings

I have no idea where I'm going to put everything but what the hell.

Day 45

Another month. Can't wait.

Update 6-22

It's Saturday and time for tale of the tape.

One day of sun this week and a few hours here and there with lots of cloudy days and June gloom.

+1

She's got to be root bound and need to get her in the ground.

No change

She's full of seeds and sprouting more preflowers. I'll pollinate again.

+1/2

First growth in 2 weeks.

+6

Almost an inch a day.

+4 and done

Male in the garden. Headed to the compost. I gave him 2 weeks to show me some fabulous growth. I've got enough pollen from a big strong fast growing male.

The wife and I are gonna try and move the greenhouse tomorrow and get it set up. Little one needs a new roof

I think I'll keep it wrapped for a few more months, easier to keep humity up for cloning.

Finally got a pic of one of the goldfish

The water is pretty brown and the black dots are mosquito larva. The goldfish is white with a red head. Another, not pictured is all white. Paid a buck for both at WalMart. They eat 200-300 mosquito larva daily. There's no filter other than the bacteria growing along the bottom and sides and a solar pump. I'm removing and replacing 2+ gallons a day for watering. Fish waste water is amazing.

Picked up 7 more bags of manure, this time fresh stuff. Will compost it in black bags.

Gopher plant clone

Given prime garden real estate. I'll put a couple more in tomorrow night.

Chemgopher OG?

Here's a flower of seeds I planted yesterday

I want these all over my yard. Planted 6 yellow as well. Collected the seeds on the side of the road in Valley Center, CA. Look it up, just a few miles North of me.

When in Rome...

SI!

Until next time, Happy Growing!

I'm confused.......It is early in the day so it could just be that, but what is the reason for keeping a male alive and pollinating everything at will? Are you trying to make a bunch of seeds for your person grows? Do you smoke that stuff? I hope you don't have a neighbor within 10 miles trying to grow a seedless female. I'm not trying to sound critical but confused by the male and why it was allowed to live..?

Because he wants to pollinate the females to get seeds to he has a decent supply of food quality genetics without paying 15 a seed. He will explain it better then me tho

Yes, I want seeds but I want them produced by the best plants. The way to see all the pheno's is by starting 25-50 seeds. You'll see most if not all of them.

I want lots of seeds. That little male couldn't pollinate the female next to him, yet. I did have a 4' male with a female sitting in the garden for a few weeks. No one is growing near me and we all have big lots. I'm on about 3/4 acre. Neighbor across the street is on 4 acres and neighbors on both sides have about the same size lot as us. I have enough room to grow males and females 100' apart with no pollination so I'm not too worried of pollinating anyone else's grow.

A grower gave me this cross, Chemdog x Brutus OG and I'd like to set both the sativa and Indica lines, if possible.

The best way to see most if not all the pheno's is by planting several dozen seeds at a time then choosing the best ones of the pheno's to breed.

I grow for personal use and make tinctures and caps and give some away to friends in need.

Personally I think it's a waste to keep purchasing seeds for every grow instead of making crosses and see what you might get even within the same lines.

I'm going to hold off planting seeds for a few months and this fall start an F3 winter grow in the greenhouse popping several dozen seeds and I plan on popping dozens every month until summer and see if I can get a rotating monthly harvest outside this winter. I could never afford to purchase that many seeds but I can produce them for free.

I really haven't noticed that much difference between seedy buds and virgin of this stuff. It packs a punch and that chem taste is nice.

I do have a female that I've only pollinated a couple lower branches and she's 47 days in flower. Another month and I'll take her down then I'll be able to compare the smoke from the same plant.

I've only used it on a coupe if plants with no ill effects so I think it's time to try it on a few more plants and today is the day. I'll mix up a few gallons of the batch I made last week. It's got algae growing on top. Very healthy tea concentrate.

Thanks man but I don't have buds the size of beer cans. Almost makes me want to buy lights and build a grow room in the garage but my wife would kill me dead if I spent that much money on "my plants" as she refers to them. I drool all over myself every time I see the pics of your plants!

Well thanks but the genetics i was growing have much to do with it. For regular seeds (which i am not using right now) i would contact Mota Rebel or Shantibaba. They have classic well bred plants that grow huge buds.

My grow room and grow are not expensive at all. 5 year old hps air cooled glass enclosed lamps and 6” exhaust fans. I only finally got new ballasts this year and they are almost half price because of the led boom. Electricity, bulbs, nutes and seeds have only cost $100 per month average to produce nearly a pound. Just a lot of perpetual work. But you do that anyway.

However I would expect arm size buds outside. :-)

Greenhouse is in the backyard.

Now we just need to walk it up the hill.

We had to have our 20 year old help before he left for work. It should be in it's permanent spot within an hour. I need some bt's first, like a lot of 'em.

Up the hill was so much fun

Thought for sure we'd break off a few lemon tree branches.

In place and needs to be put together

I'm taking another bt break. Hitting Blue Dream today. Makes me caugh but the high rocks.

It will no doubt take me all week to get it together as I'll only have an hour or two a day to work on it.

Can't fit the bathtubs inside the greenhouse so I plan on putting pallets down along the side and put them there. I'll buy some feeder goldfish and be able to use 25% of the water on plants daily. I think they hold 50 gal each. I'll measure them and figure out their capacity once we drag them up the hill.

I've got a 1/2" pvc pipe run under the greenhouse so I just have to dig it up and tap in.

I'm sure it will be way too hot to grow in this summer but come fall I plan on framing off the bottom a foot high and filling it with potatoes, onions and garlic. Oh yeah, and a few pot plants should fit in there too.
