Happy St Patty's Day!

I'm Irish. My wife is an Irish redhead-pray for me. If we had a dog it'd be an Irish Setter.

Not really. Really we want 2 Labs, (a blonde and a red) and a hound dog, and 30+ acres in middle east Tennessee. We'd name 'em Red, White and 'ol Blue. Here's to dreams

So, new diary. It's 2020, Corona virus is beginning its march and the perfect time to start a new diary. You have been born, prepare to die. That's life. Don't fear it. Peace.

First puff at the tender age of 16 in 1975. First grow in 77. Bag seed that was way better than the half bud half seed we were smoking. Could I compare that with anything from today? Naw. Got me high, enjoyed it.

Of course the Thai sticks and Hawaiian and those spooky folks in nor cal and something about a skunk got my attention. Black Afghany Primo hash? $10 a gram.

Then I got old and found out just how much this plant can help me feel better. But then again, hasn't it always? And now it's legal to grow here in sunny so cal.

So if you're new to my grows here's the skinny, love this frickin plant. Grew in dirt for several decades. In the ground with more bugs then most of you have ever seen. Seriously, and still have to fight

Ain't that nice? Out of control on 2 of 5 plants. Clipped, sprayed hard with the hose and drying. Bastards.

My fault, really. I allowed the weeds to grow, the aphids exploded on the weeds and found some good healthy plants to invade. Fun stuff.

1 Tbl Dawn, 1 tsp veg oil, 1 qt water. Spray every 3 days at lights out. Should have sprayed every day

I grew inside in the early 80's. Cost a fortune. MH lights, a/c running 24/7 along with a fan AND humidifier. I could have just bought a pound and called it even for the year.

So after decades of growing in dirt I found coco. Coco is a wonderful growing medium. Mix nutes and water often. Dealing with the waste water is the hardest part. If you don't have a lawn or flower beds the sewer is pretty much it but get this, it's worth it!

If you can grow outdoors in coco this summer please do. Give it a try. 3 gallon pot, plastic or fiber. Don't matter, you'll fall in love.

MasterBlend nutes are pretty killer for the price. Factions of a cent per gallon or spend more on the Dutch offering. That don't matter either what matters is that you give this coco stuff a try.

As always I recieve no royalties or any monetary gain, not even a reach around if you try coco. So this is from the heart. One grower to the next and our preceding generations. Do this. I've already done the side by side.

So anyway I'm going through life and my mother-in-law is diagnosed with bladder cancer. My wife brings her home and takes her to dr/chemo appointments and says we need to buy her CBD oil. I'm all in. We start her off with 30 ml twice a day. 3 months later she has surgery and the doc tells us no tumor. And, frickin AND her anemia is gone. Ya catch that? Gone. Bye bye. Are you kidding me? So yeah, love this plant.

Currently I've got these 2 Granddaddy Purples with their own private room.

I'm a sucker for the Kratky method.

Works with some plants. We'll see how it does with our weed

I'm toasted and rambling. The agenda this year includes several more strains. We'll have fun!
Happy Growing!

Absolutely beautiful! I wish having a large growing area and privacy were leisures I had as well! I have only one plant, sadly. Looking to get more seeds soon (my buddy lended me one). Once I do get seeds it'll be great, not risking picking up weed and driving and all that stuff- I have it at my own convenience. Keep up the good work!

Happy Saint Patty's Day! I have two beers in the house and I am not going to drink either one of them today lol cuz I'm not going to a liquor store ever again, in fact I'm never going out of the house ever again, thanks China!

Ps. Plumber hates dirt! But he loves masterblend so he gets a pass LOL

Depending on which side of the equator you're on spring might be neigh. It is for me and I'll plant a few, maybe a few dozen or more or maybe more. My land is a sanctuary for weed.

Even if you only have room for one do it up right. Order fem seeds baby 'em. Or do like me and plant as many as it takes. It's all good!

Love it! Can't wait to see that! Oh man if I still have my 20 acres in beautiful scenic New Hampshire I'd have upside down plants everywhere LOL

..of course they'd all be in dirt

Ps. +1 on red-headed Irish women!

Almost forgot, this for you on St. Patty my Irish friend! Here's how we do it in Southie!

Okay, I wanna see this too. Got composted horse manure, peat, coco and corse perlite. Even got a 4 x post that gets about 8 hrs sun per day. This could be fun but a pain to water. I do have tea going. I'll refresh with more manure and compost and should be all that's needed. I've got some Big Buds I'll be putting in the ground amended with the above but I'll start 5-6 gophers and plant the best one. Upside down pot? What's wrong with you

They look pretty but never filled out. First time I've grow outside in winter.

This year I plan on a July 1st pop date then flip end of Sept so they'll have some sun and heat to mature. All will be mainlined to 8 colas.

Plants I started March last year flowered in June so hoping to Harvest the GDP's in May/June, the clones, Vaders and Chemgohers in August, the May/June plantings in Oct/Nov and the winter grow end of the year.

I now know I can get at least 3 harvests per year and will be adding auto's soon, produce hundreds of seeds and grow them every month.

I doubt if I'll grow anything but auto's in the winter as I can keep them under extra light to develop and they're smaller and quicker to mature. Just depends on how successful my auto grow is this spring/summer

Monday update

The GDP Love Birds

Now that's plant porn!

Moved the snap peas off my tray

I need to add drain holes to the bottles so rain doesn't drown the plants and I still have several to string on the twine and then secure the bottles. Should look pretty cool once they fill the swing set.

The Kratky method is designed to set it up and forget it until the plant is ready to harvest. It works well for many smaller plants but I don't have near enough large containers so I use what I got and add nute water as needed. Growing outside I have to expect rain so the need for drain holes about a third way down.

It will be interesting watching these

I do want to get a few into buckets and move a couple to 3 liter bottles and flip in a month, for science and all.

The broccoli is growing well in 3 ltr bottles

5 of 6 have flowers.

The best lettuce growth is from Black Seed Simpson

A few days ago they were starting to wilt. They had used all the water so refilled and they're back to growing.

And this new red salad

I need to get these into bottles.

Harvested the toy choi again last night

Wife made Pho. There's new growth at the leaf nodes. I'll be growing several trays of these every winter.

This Ground Pounder is growing like a weed

Male?

2 more popped

The one on the right is some age as the one above. Left one popped a couple days ago.

Darth Vaders

Chemgopher

Planting WEEK! I've got to get tomato and pepper seeds going so might as well plant more gophers. I did plant 3 for the upside down pot but it's time to start the summer plants.

It's been nice working on the yard and plants this past week but of course the uncertainty of the viruses spread puts a damper on things. I haven't left the house/yard in a week. I've got seeds I need to mail and worse I'm out of vodka.

Time to get work done. Mowded the yard and took down a tree yesterday and I need to cut it up. Moving and leveling pallets for bath tubes next to the big greenhouse is on my to do list.

I'm going to enjoy this mini retirement before it ends.

Happy Growing!
