Hi, I've been growing for over 10 years now, from window sill to mostly outdoors. This year I tried making my own seeds again so I planted some regular Medicine Man from Mr. Nice and feminized Pineapple Express and LSD from Barney's farm.

I managed to get a male plant and in the end it was supposed to pollinate 4 females. Now to the issue: 3 of those female plants were probably successfully pollinated and started producing seeds. Only the pineapple female plant does not show any signs of creating seed in my opinion.

Additional information: the pineapple plant started flowering 1-2 weeks earlier than the rest. Could it simply have been too late to pollinate it? Do you guys see any signs of seeds in the making on it?(Pic 1-3) Now would be the perfect time to harvest the strain so I'd rather do that than wait for seeds that aren't there. And in case there are, I don't want a bunch of unripe seeds in my weed. So I need to reach some kinda consensus.

This issue has never come up to me yet and I'm not finding many threats on it either. Anytime I had a male among my plants, there were always seeds and seeds everywhere.

Any opinion is much appreciated.

AI answer From Grow Assistant, reviewed by THCFarmer staff. Always double-check before acting.
Doesn't look pollinated to me. The calyxes in your close-ups are tight and flat, with no round bulges pushing out of the bracts. Those dried orange pistils are just age on an early flowerer. Seeded buds usually show swollen calyxes with the pistils shriveling early, and I don't see that here.

Your timing theory is a decent one. If she started 1-2 weeks ahead, her pistils may have been past receptive when the male let go. The pale green round bit in the middle of pic 2 and 3 is the only thing I'd double check.

Easy test: pinch a few calyxes on the lower and inner buds, not just the top cola. A seed feels like a hard little bead inside, and an empty calyx squishes flat. Pull one apart if you're unsure. Outdoors, pollen drift can seed one branch and skip another, so check a few spots.

If they're all soft, chop when the trichs are where you want them. If you find a handful of seeds, pick them out when you trim, since a few won't ruin the harvest. Did the pollen reach her while her pistils were still white, or had most already browned?

perfect time for harvest?
looks pretty early for that. id bet there are seeds in there unless the female was sterile,.
how long since pollination?

You think? Pretty much all of the pistils have turned brown, trichs are cloudy and if I keep it any longer I'd be sure to get mold in my climate. It's the beginning of October now which is usually a good time to harvest for the early flowerers - at least in my experience.
It must be at least a month since the male gave dust. I actually cut off a few downer branches from the male and covered the female plants in pollen to be extra sure it reached everywhere and in time. The pineapple plant was positioned up the usual wind direction but like, they were only 1-2 meters apart, the pollen must have reached it on its own even before I took the initiative.
Never had a sterile plant, there's a first for everything I guess. I think I'm gonna try what the AI said and squish some parts that look thicker and see if there's anything there. I'll be back with results.

yes a month and you should be able to tell with a pinch here and there

And so the smell of pineapple fills the attic.

I pinched about 10 calyxes that showed potential and all were empty except one that had a single half of a white seed in it. Maybe next year I'll get my pineapple cross✌️
