Possible To Add Chaga In The Soil?

i have some Chaga i collected couple weeks past and wanted to know, if mixed with my soil, could it promote root-rot or any other harmful things to the plants? i would like to see if there is any benefits to the plants in the long run without harming them or create a bad root envirement.

Since chaga likes to inoculate birch trees, and not soil, I wouldnt do it :)
