I stumbled over that one the other day, I'll try and remember or find where it wasSo, unrelated to the post, but there's this old strain I ran across back in 2006 called blue moon rocks. That shit was.... something else. Carry on.
Sweet! Do t get me wrong I dab it all blasted and pressed- prefer pressed fir sure. I just find it ironic to use organic bud to chemically remove trichs
Ok so dont roast me for the plant material in my rosin lol :))) I had to press it without bags. Sort of ran out of them in my starter kit with err "testing" (dry weed is bad and high heat is bad and too much is bad and too little is a pain in the ass...) and had to run without them.
Seems like 2 grams in a compact puck is good. My machine is little :) Anyway, question please. I tried to light up my rosin pic to show it but it looked like theres a translucent layer of something over the stuff. Did I do something wrong? A sample of the bud I pressed is in the pic. HSC Purple Mountain Majesty.

I went with the 12 ton over the 10 ton.
12 ton, 4x7 heat pads with dual 300 watt in each pad.
10 ton, 3x5 heat pads with single 300 watt in each pad.
12 ton was about 150$ more by the time you add the rubber feet
Good stuff! I usually run 190, 180 is a little tastier.So... the 4 ton Dabpress + GSC = Getting Better. 3.5gr 210F 120 micron bag. WAAAAAY light on the pressure.
Should have got this thing in the first place.
Anyone have any insights regarding higher quality? Will a smaller micron bag help that along? TIA
Nice ! Dabs away- 200 is my starting place 180-190 gets ya a little better quality - I don’t use bags / don’t mind a little marijuana taste! LmaoSo... the 4 ton Dabpress + GSC = Getting Better. 3.5gr 210F 120 micron bag. WAAAAAY light on the pressure.

just play around with it - every batch is a little different - a art form in my opinion
Blue dream on 180 makes a white almost crumble.I'm hunting for that almost white butter consistency. I got it ONCE from a purple mountain majesty run. That bud is still curing though. Really want to let it finish up. I pressed that stuff at 210 and was shocked when it came rolling out like that.
Agreed re: art form. Man it's all different from strain to strain. I was pressing without bags, but then I think was going too heavy with the pressure and would get it squishing out the front. So I switched to bags. Finally figured out what makes the bottle tech method work but I can't get past gold. I think that part is probably a combination of the bud being squished and the micron size of the bag.
So how do you do it without making a mess? I'm assuming much less than a 7 gram puck on 3 x 5 plates? Help me Moshy! Hahahahah :))) I'm a rookie again.
Well I’m no pro! Lmao but I have played around a bit - for our personal use I have the best luck pressin 2-3 gram pucks - when I do large squishes I do use the bags - I just feel for my skill level the smaller batch is the way to go- if I want more budder consistency and better flavor I press at lower temps 180-190 but again it depends on the strain and plant.I'm hunting for that almost white butter consistency.
