EDIT:
Forgot to say... there is an app in the play store and also in the app store for iphone....
Android: Light Meter (if not allowed please take it away:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tsang.alan.lightmeter&hl=en)
iPhone: no idea which one is the same as i don't like iphone lol
I know its not accurate but it gives you an idea... lol
That light meter is almost essential. My iphone broke (where my light meter is) and this android can't do one.
Weird trivia for you.
In star system gl667 there are three stars. The dimmest one is gl667c which has planets. Forget wikipedia on this system, it's out of date. Gl667c has a few planets (one has been confirmed for a while, some are not comfirmed, and one has been disproved. The third planet is a tidally locked planet about 1.8 times the size of earth. I did some atmosphere projections a few years ago about this planet. Very weird but habitable. The light level averages around 400 lumens on that planet according to my projections. Despite this, the planet is a little hotter then the earth (mean temperatures at the hottest place on the planet are between 160 to 180 degrees f, with most of the planet cooler (on the backside of the planet is the coldest).
The coolest thing is going to be several belts across the planet, this is vegetative growth on the planet confined to areas where the temps are not too hot. The colors are different here. Very little green on most plants. Mostly black with some other shades.
Two interesting things about this. One, and the more esoteric if the two, i used to keep my old house at 400 lumens, and while it is dark, some plants can grow in that (though not very well).
And number 2, i had access to all the data on this planet at the time and did some number crunching. Theres a way to determine the mass of an object with certain other data points. No one has noticed but you can determine the average mass of this planet. And I didn't find this out til the rest was done. Based on the mass, this planet is just about 100% water. So nothing i calculated matters :p
I've been trying to finish the story this was for before the new james web satallite comfirms this.
