It’s a compost based of sheeps wool and poo as it’s laced down for bedding then composted bracken and comfrey all which are ca high already so I wondered if I’d need it based if that factI think this should work although it may take some tweaking to get your pH in range. I also think you will have a hard time growing beans/peas in Nitrogen rich soil but it can work. Are you unable to buy peat or do you not want to use it? You also may run into problems with calcium unless you get some gypsum or another source. Not seeing enough in your mix.

The ph of it is 6.5 and hold enough for a year of tomato food naturally
I didn’t go for peat this round cause it has no nutritional value except it’s very airated for drainage when adding to ewc but being that the wool bracken is like a sponge more so than peat I didn’t see a need to add any peat and as it will drop the ph and the compost and ewc is 6.5 already do o really need to drop the ph of the soil to add lime to raise it again just for ca which I should already have an Abu dance of ?
Again I am guessing by my own research on the compost here I have used it for years on autos and tomato’s and anything in the garden it is amazing

(I used coots before and till5 I hit sodium and ca problems in that ca was 12000 in my soil toxicly )
So I’m looking to make my own as coots is all based off his worm cast anyway the cow shit adds diversity and ca again and then worm shit ?

Not sure what makes it so obvious I don't run an organic setup. Actually, I run a certified "clean green" garden. It's the closest certification a cannabis grower can get to "organic" in the state of California. Since cannabis has not been approved by the FDA, technically none of it is "organic" nor can it be. I'd be happy to send you a list of the nutrients and processes I use . Everything I grow is lab tested and sold in legal dispensaries. All of my ashes burn white ;)
UPDATE: The "Back To The Roots" soil blend is TRASH! full of fungus gnats. It has made our job harder... bringing in ladybugsThis is our first "commercial grow"... during germination and seedling we used Espoma Organic Potting Mix with i49 Germ Genie (0-0-5). After transplant to 1g and then 5g we are using:
2 cu. ft. Fox Farm Happy Frog
12 qt. Back to the Roots 6qt Specialty Blend
2 cups Espoma Organic Citrus-tone 5-2-6
4 cups Espoma Organic Soil Acidifier
Touch of Neem Oil for the ("Back To Roots)
pH Balancer
RO Water

No, not wet, but I purchased it before reading the reviews. All reviews aren't the same. The bad reviews were all about having fungus gnats in the soil. When we purchased it as a supplement, I had to go to the reviews to find out why we were having this issue... indoors. That brand has fungus gnat larvae. Our soil mix has 4 different brands... this one has problems, either they don't package in a facility that is temp controlled, or they do everything outside before packaging.Was the soil wet when you got it?
You didn't see any crawling over the medium and flying out when you opened it?
Just wondering how you didn't notice them before adding it to your mix, larva only lives a few days and when dry even shorter.
Soil would of had to of been wet with living adults and larva in the soil from the start in order for them to still be alive 2 weeks later.
I've never had fungus gnats in my grow area so maybe my information is wrong.
I left a 1/2 bag of soil on my porch and 3 days later they were flying out of it, very noticeable.
I removed it from my property immediately and stripped down and hosed myself down before going back inside.

I haven't read reviews but so many soil suppliers (manufacturers probably as well) and local stores leave pallets of soil and other medium outside till it's sold.
Unless it's packaged extremely well, tiny insects could definitely get into the medium through pin holes and other defects in packaging.
I've bought soil off the pallets, luckily never had an issue.
I've bought it bone dry and also while it's raining and the medium ends up being soaked, if water can get in and wet the medium that quick then I'm sure pests could as well.
Never really thought about any of this prior.....now I'm a little paranoid lol
$30 for 1 cu ft of Pumice? Is it laced with gold? Lol I pay $8 for 1 cu ft and it's not mass produced. It comes from a small company in PNW. Only $6 for 1 cu ft of EWC also from a small producer. My compost is from a local producer around the corner from me for $11/ cu ft. Canadian sphagnum for under $35 for 3.8 cu ft. Soil conditioner is <$15/ 3 cu ft. My amendments come from a small local business and I can buy everything by the pound. It's self-service. Just scoop your own and most are about $1/# or less. It's all excellent quality.I’ve made soil several times. It is crazy expensive to make a good batch. 1 cuft of pumice is 30 bucks + worm casting + peat moss+ biochar+ craft blend + basalt + +++. Some of this stuff that is 50 bucks for a cuft is a really good deal. If you plan on just dumping a bunch of synthetic nutrients on it? Then there is really no point of assembling a soil. Just buy prolix or sunshine # 4.
