Are you gonna retain the upload to gallery feature Logic? I can not locate this currently and used it to lightly insert images in to posts.

I am not complaining, just curious! Beggars can't be choosers!

yes sunslip, digital images have metadata, which can include the camera manufacturer and model, shutter speed, aperture, date and time, etc.

i've just checked, and the metadata does not include the camera serial number.

i've just downloaded several images from the board, including one of mine that I know had metadata before I uploaded it, and found that all the identifying data in the metadata of all of them was completely blank. apparently, the metadata is dropped when the image is uploaded.

I would be much more concerned with the GEOTAG which the iphone uses to insert the GPS location of the photo in the image somehow. Yikes!

Again, I am not really concerned with this GPS, I disable it; but I wanna know about the upload to gallery feature?

i just checked again, none of this data, including the geotag, is available from the images that have been uploaded to the board.

i've read that this is not necessarily the case elsewhere, like on some photo-sharing sites, but it seems as if Logic has already got us covered here.

Logic truly is the man and has our asses covered.

Just thought I would take a moment to relish.

I was thinking about the security issues with GPS data being incorporated into new model cameras (even ones that aren't attached the phones). I was wondering if THCFarmer strips EXIF data or at least EXIF GPS data, but it doesn't seem to be the case. It appears GPS EXIF data will remain on a photo uploaded to THCFarmer.

Here is a photo I found on wikipedia that contains a GEOTAG. When I uploaded it and downloaded it from THCFarmer, the GEOTAG information remained in the EXIF data.

Not just the phones you need to worry about. I know some of the Canon Rebel EOS's are starting to incorporate GPS in the EXIF tags. I would imagine this will become a fairly popular feature in upcoming point and shoot cameras.

I have an EOS XTi, and I believe it must be the new T series with this feature. It is very simple in all devices to turn off GPS tagging. Many here like to share, rather than show off their photos. Sharing photo's often opens ones garden to criticism as much as praise.

Thank you very much for determining this information exists as this is just terrible!
