pre-emptive regiment for indoor pests?

What's a good pre-emptive regiment for indoor pests for soil based plants? I'm sure this has been talked about a lot so if you could direct me to a good conversation or site or have any info yourself I'd appreciate it.

Good dry cycle between waterings. No clothes, plants, tools ,shoes, etc. that have been outside. Clean self, Clean and disenfect all tools, stands, pots , etc. going in or out of rooms.

Keep growroom clean.
