Hey guys, I've been running my plants in 4" rockwool cubes in floroflex containers filled with perlite. I like the ease of this setup but the thing I'm having trouble with is " add backs"
My res is 72 litres and I'm running the full line of nutri + at 75% recommend dose under a 315cmh. I will switch to my 630w cmh as soon as I get some cuts. When I start the plants in there, they are probably 2 weeks old. I mix the res and run it and drain back into the res.
Where my troubles begin is a few weeks later I need to add some fresh water but the ec even after adding 5 gallons or so my ec isn't low enough to restock all the nutes I want. I know in veg I have depleted nitrogen, calcium and mag so I just add a what I can without the ec going through the roof. A week or two later I start to see deficiencies in mag.
How are you guys doing these mid cycle Topups? It's a shame to dump a 50l res at 1.2 ec down the drain but I'm at a loss.
