I'm having some trouble transplanting rooted cuttings from a cloning machine to coco or soil. What should the roots on the cutting look like when it's time to transplant? How wet or dry should the media be? Does the cutting require high humidity at first?
Both cuttings in the pics are Cement Shoes in 50/50 coco/perlite, one is 4 days out of the cloner, the other is 2 days. In both cases the coco/perlite was _very_ lightly watered before being placed in a cup, barely moist. I've added some water since then but not much because they already look over watered.
I've treated other cuttings the same way and had them take off running so I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong unless I'm taking them out of the cloning machine too soon

How well rooted are they when you take them from your cloner? It’s a aeroponic I assume. Those usually root well enough in about 10 days.

You should have your pot prepared with the medium, I use soil and premoisten it to where when squeezed it holds together but doesn’t drip water. I use an innocculator, great white to be specific. I then place the clone in and fill the pot to the top. I use solo cups as my pots for planting from a clone machine. I also put four drain holes in the bottom and another four holes around the sides about 1/2” up from bottom. Works well for me.

Are you cloning under dome and then transplanting them into the cocoperlite under direct light?

While in the cloning machine I didnt use any humidity dome. After transplanting and the cuttings wilting almost immediately I placed a humidity dome on top for around 24 hours. I took it off when the leaf tips began to darken as I was worried they were starting to rot. Since then I've left them alone, hoping for the best. They are now indirectly under a 30W LED.

How long should the roots be before transplanting? Should I wait until they develop the root hairs that grow perpendicular to the roots?
