Proper slurry test using nectar line

Can anyone answer a few questions on a slurry test for me. Using the nectar line and they say one part dirt to one part distilled water. Do I need to ph up the water to 7 before mixing? It’s coming out of the bottle around 5. Thanks

You want distilled or RO water (0ppm). It’s ph neutral and will quickly become the ph of the grow medium. You can test ppm like this as well.
