Hi,

I'm waiting for my own girls to finish flowering (wk9 now) and have been smoking some buds from another grower/seller for a week now and today I noticed puffs of smoke come out of the larger buds when breaking them down to go in the grinder. So, what could it be? I say mold but the dealer says he doesn't think so but he doesn't know what it is though...I'm not too worried that I've been smoking it but hopefully it hasn't/isn't going to cause an issue in my grow...

That's worrisome. Do you have a loop? I think it's either mold or extremely dirty, neither is good. I'm guessing mold which should be visible under a loop.

That’s straight up mold!
Do not smoke if you want to live a nice long life!!
Dispose of properly in a burn barrel.

Y'all seem to forget when trichomes dry out they turn into dust at the bottom of the jar. Could just be kief. If it was improperly dried or was over dried you could see trichome dust when you break a bud apart, and some moon rocks that were dusted really good will release a little powder when you break them up. But yeah it could also be other things that aren't good. Mold, pesticide residue, bug remains... Unfortunately if you have no way of knowing, you probably don't want to burn it.

Yes have a loupe, will try take another look but appears to be super clean, no smell of mold either

Think I might just give it back to the guy instead. Sucks because it's super strong weed.

He sent a different strain but can even see mold when opening the bag. I noticed when trying to grab a bud on top and the stem just lifted out but the bud was still in the bag
