Update:

The new medium arrived - biobizz light. Much lighter, better drainage and with perlite.

I replanted, in a smaller pot and gave no more water. 3 days later the plant was on deaths door. Leaves had drop off and every leaf was almost yellow or was turning. All leaves were drooping.

At this stage, I thought, desperately, either I kill it quicker or I let it die slowly.

I took following steps:

Flushed it: 0.5 litres with 6.3 PH water.
Light cycle: 24 hour to 18/6
Light height: 45cm to 65cm
Medium change: as mentioned before I had changed the medium

Still early, but its started to recover!

Sadly, I cannot analyse the root cause or maybe, it was a multitude of issues. A fantastic learning, nevertheless.

The root cause, were the roots, pun intended. That soil didn’t have enough aeration, which caused overwatering which caused the roots to drown.

When you changed soil, did you take it to bare roots or did you leave the old soil on the root ball and transplant it that way? I’m guessing the entire root ball which would be the best way. Im guessing once the roots find their way out of that old soil your plant will take off. Good luck, just keep the feeding to a minimum and water by weight, weigh the pot at dry weight, water, weigh the plant at just watered weight, water again when it gets back down to dry weight. Pick the pot up so you know what it feels like when wet vs dry and soon youll be able to pick the pot up and know if it needs water or not.

Strain: Autoflower - Strawberry Cough
Medium: Soil with clay pellets. Based in Germany. Soil was from a DIY store and labeled as cannabis soil. Tested Soil PH sitting around 6.0-6.5
Nutrients: Biobizz - starter set
Age: 3 weeks
Pot: Fabric 9L
Watering: 2-3 days
Humidity: 55%-70%
Temp: 22-27 celcius
Light: TS600 Mars hydro (100w). Kept that DLI is around 30.0 for 24 hours.
Lights: I run the lights 24hours.


So, currently pulling out my hair. This is my first grow started with 2 seeds. The other seedling did exactly the same 2 weeks ago. The growth is stunded and now it seems to be dying. This plant was healthy until 4/5 days ago.

Leaves are drooping, yellow and some spots of brown. I thought it may have been watering, but, I've been consciously checking by dipping my finger to the knuckle in the soil. Currently it's little damp, but I would not call it 'wet'.

I thought it may have been nitrogen deficiency, so added some BIO grow from Biobizz to the last watering that was around 2 days ago. Seems to have gotten worse since then.

I am at a loss. Help is really appreciated

Have you used cal mag or Epsom salt?

Needs bloom supplement. Then next watering, add UNSULFERED blackstrap molasses 1/2 tablespoon to every 2L of water. Feed the microbial life in your medium. You can do this every other week or every week honestly.

Well don't waste $$$ on it i have a crap auto going right now also just letting it grow with my photoperiods and all i give it is water and if there's bloom nutes left from feeding my photoperiods i dump some on it if it's thirsty. Good luck next time, don't give up if your really wanting to learn just know what you did wrong and learn. Sorry

Do you have anything else to get started? : ) those autos will apparently flower in more light than 12/12 so you could (in theory) start vegging out some new girls. just spitballing here : ) maybe GalGrows or someone else could add to this (good or bad idea) I dont have any experience with autos

You have a great attitude about it so keep that up! : ) there IS A TON TO LEARN! Nice job on getting your plant back up and going (circumstances permitting)

I am in the middle of my first grow and I ended up turning my first post on here into my grow journal. I figured that it was a great opportunity to post pics and updates throughout the grow - it is an awesome way to keep a record of what you are doing and have a reference to go back to. Looking at the previous pics is a blast too. I don't notice the growth/progression until I take a look at the earlier pics. I also have fun telling the stories of all of my fuck ups as well....that alone will keep me busy!

Combine the resource of having a documented grow journal with the awesome folks here that know what they are doing, and honestly want to help us be successful growers... it gives us a fighting chance! LOL

I will be watching your grow and learning as well!
