I transplanted my seedlings into these 1 gallon (2.9 Qt) pots almost 2 weeks ago. Ive topped them 2 days ago but the purple started before that. Ive watered less than normal due to having overwatered recently. But not to the point of them wilting before ill water. My guess was mag deficiency. Ive added cal mag and small amount of epsom salt to last feeding/water 2 days ago. I will be transplanting to 5 gallons in few days. Im worried about them Please help

Curious to know myself. I have one that was like that, before I put it in the garden. It still has its original purple streak on the main stem, but other than that, it's doing great.

I was just told on another forum that it is normal and the plants look fine. It did happen very quickly and scared me. My one outdoor plant hasn't turned purple (yet). I got 2 replies stating its normal so I guess unless I hear otherwise I will just continue as if nothing happened

There's various reasons for purple stems, but each "purple" presents itself differently. It's subtle but different. In your case, its a natural plant defense to strong intensity lighting. It's not a deficiency and you don't have a problem. I hope that confirms what you've already heard.

Stems for fans turning purple ONLY is a very common presentation. Purple protects the stem.
Purple on a node stem can be a warning sign.
My main stems almost always turn purple due to my method of leaving a hole in the center of a plant for fan leaves. When they fade it leaves the stems open to the light and by that time they are trained at an angle so the light beats on em. Again purple protects the stem.
