There must be some other folks here using IBC totes as irrigation reservoirs.
Since they allow for the passage of light after a while algae starts to grow and can clog the valve and timer. What is the best way around this? Cover it so as to not allow light in? Is there an amount of chlorine that can be safely added that will inhibit algae growth but not harm plants? Would like to know what others are doing.

Thanks in advance....

cover it in plastic or paint it.
