question about light

starting my new grow soon and i am going to be growing lsd in 2 wilma big 9s in a 2.4 x 2.4 x 2 tent i have 2 600w lights to use but would i yield more if i went with a 1000w lumatek on a light rail

You will more than likely have a bigger yield with the 2 600w, but the 1000w is great too.

As per my opinion 1000w will be much more fruitful and cost saving too. As the plants going to capture the amount of light needed themselves so will not be a problem at all.

Cost saving, yes, more fruitful, I don't know about that. I think the 2 600's will be better because of the coverage and overlapping light. So every part of the tent (middle, corners, ect.) will have more light intensity than the 1000. Thats just my opinion, both options are great.

Agree that 600's will yield better and most likely produce a denser bud due to the lights being stationary vs. on a mover.

the plants can only capture light that gets to their leaves. if the leave don't get light, they can't capture it. a 1000w bulb wouldn't have as good coverage as two 600w bulbs.

A thousand watt will always yield more than a six. More light equals more bud, but a six will be best for your situation due to lack of space and heat build up.

it's not a question of 1000w vs 600w, it's one 1000w vs two 600w. clearly the two 600w will give more light and more coverage.

Am i missing something? Its a 2 foot cube!!! No way you can get a 1000w in there! I would say 1 600w is too big even. I'd try for a 400w cool tube at the most...GOOD LUCK!!

The question is will the 1000 watt bulb produce more bud and technically it will. The 1000w can potentially produce 140,000 lumens of light in 16 square feet. More lumens = larger buds = higher yeild. If the space was wider than you could get more coverage making the two 600w produce more bud, but with such a small space the 1000w will produce more bud and less heat than two 600w. I think in an air cooled system with the 1000w your pockets will get fatter faster.
