Question on going from a t5 to 4k hps

Hey everyone. I'm vegging 15 under a few t5's for about 20 days now. I plan to move the girls into the flower room that has 4 1k hps. Will there be a problem as long as they are about 32 inches away then lowered over 2 weeks? I believe my last hermies were from doubling the light at about week 5 of flower. Thanks a bunch.

The answer to the question is: Way more than 32 inches. More like 50 inches assuming temps are good. Lowering them more than a foot every other day caused me some wilting that took about 8 hrs to recover.

haha, i like how you answered your own question. Experimentation at it's best. That does seem like a bit of lumen shock though. Something about T5's don't produce the intensity that an HID can. I'd turn on one light every day or two until all lights are on. That seems like it should take down any lumen shock that would be present.

I ended up adding a 400W MH along with my 8 bulb T5 bank in my veg room to give the plants a little more "bang".
