Hi guys,

I was wondering when you guys change your HID bulbs. I am going on my third grow with the same bulbs (HPS), flowering only. I am starting to see that the light intensity is not quite the same. I can't tell by the harvest be cause each time it's a different strain.

Thanks.

hi wango..i usually change my bulb after 3-4 grows..the older a bulb gets, the hotter the bulb runs..not sure if the older bulbs become less electically efficient though..always label and keep your old bulb as this can be used as back-up if your new one ceases to work..hope this helps, peace,tg :flower

Green81 nailed it down, 12 months of continous use is the life expectancy of HID bulbs. If you run more than one bulb buy a light meter and check your bulbs monthly.
