I couldn't find anything specific to my question, and sorry if there is.
When in veg/early flower, plants aren't taking up as much water. The consensus is to water until runoff in coco, but I've found (specifically in veg) doing that isn't a good idea when the root zone isn't fully formed with the container being used.
I'm in week 1 flower right now, and plants look great, but I got about 10% runoff midway through lights on, and the the plants stayed soaked throughout the rest of lights on, to the point where I didn't have to feed the next day cause they were still so wet. They also looked like shit when the lights went off, like signs of over watering.
So my question is, in veg/early flower, should I look to just keep the medium wet enough to keep the plants comfortable, lowering EC and not getting runoff? Or should I just feed once daily with Runoff right when the lights turn on to give them 12 hours to drink up as much as possible?
This is just until they start to uptake more water and I can get to my typical watering schedule come week 3 ish.
