I hung 3 plants in my 4x3 to dry. Everything seemed great with temp and humidity upper 60s for temperature and low 50s humidity. now on day 5 of drying and I’m struggling to hit low 40s humidity. I have a humidifier near tent intake which seems to draw in vapes. When humidity is low my exhaust fan kicks on. Which to me seems counter productive. Drawing The moisture through the intake vent and immediately out of the exhaust fan. I feel like a dog chasing his tail trying all these different set ups and nothings working. I was thinking of raising entire room just hoping not fill the humidifier multiple times a day. Or can you place the humidifier in the tent
just afraid that’s to much.

this is my 3 grow and really prefer not to ruined it no. Thanks for any insights

you have to turn off the exhaust then and make sure theres a fan on the bottom drawing in the humidity. someone might have a better way but for now that's what i'd do.

I wouldn’t put a humidifier inside of the tent with drying buds. Consider moving the buds to paper bags to slow the dry down. If the buds feel crunchy outside but squish like a marshmallow they can go in paper bags now.

I took a look at it and I would not follow the advise of someone that grows buds that are so small.
A day or 2 at 65 to 68 and 50 percent humidity, than 60/60 until the smaller buds snap off.

those are older numbers, much better drying at 60/60. The colder temp is the way to go

I run an intake fan only. I have my carbon filter in the tent hook up to an exhaust duct but no fan. The pressure in the tent pushes out the air and keeps humidity in range. I did for my whole last grow and dry.

the pictures are blurry but here is my post about it

Nectar for the gods???

My waterings normally are about 3 days apart in 3 gallon pots, as they finish they drink less, so normally 4-5dsys by ripening. It is best to start letting them dry out more during ripeing. It sounds like your humidity is great right now. Next time in veg, if you want your humidity to be higher...

Hey, it might not be a good suggestion but I imagine a easy solution for you would be to hang up a wet towel in there. And adjust the setting on your extract fan?

I imagine a big towel would do the trick for you

Underwatering and overwatering may cause stunted growth. Small seedlings growing in big pots may experience overwatering problems, as roots need oxygen to develop and their roots systems are yet incapable of drinking that much water. In this case, the seedling seems droopy and weak, because they are slowly drowning.

You have to get the humidity of the entire room up to 60%. This can be hard to do if the room is bigger than 10x10 and you are running a heater that is pumping out 35% humidity during the winter. They make big ass humidifiers for larger spaces. Most people cheap out and get the smaller humidifiers that aren't as capable.

I'm really glad to see this endorsed bc it's the one I've gone through 3 times. It's very well put together and super detailed and informative. I came here bc I have this thought that at some point in my drying process I'm going to have to raise my humidity. As the plants dry out they're going to be dumping less water. It'll be easy to keep the humidity down at first I think. The room is around 40% and the fan will do all the work. But I'm just wondering if eventually, further into the drying I'm going to need to add humidity? I'm going to go through the thread now and see what I can find out about this topic.

Bro this is my fear! I'm coming close to harvest on my first grow and thinking about how drying is going to go. And this thought keeps bugging me. As the plants dry they'll dump less water. At first the exhaust fan will keep all that moisture out. But as they dry and put off less water it's going to come to a point where I have to add humidity. I've thought about closing the vents but keeping the fan on like he said but after that I'll prob just put a bunch of cups of warm water in there. I'm going to try to plan the harvest so my last 3 days are my days off work, so I can monitor it. I'm really thinking at first it'll be a easy as setting the ac infinity fan controller to 60% and letting it do its thing. But I am worried about the last few days. What did you end up doing?

You'd pull them off the branches and put them in the paper bag? Or get a huge paper bag?

Bro I read this the other day and used it in my little seedling/early veg closet and it got my rh up about 7-10% higher. I plan on using it if I have to during drying. I don't want to use a humidifier in my 30x30x60 tent. I figure cups of warm water would do the trick too. Thanks

Either shuck buds if dry enough to snap off branches, or cut branches in to smaller sections.
