Thanks for letting me join your forum. I'm new to this so I'm trying to figure it out. I've never grown weed before but I'm tired of paying for it. I bought some cheap Chinese LEDs, cut the bottoms off some 1 l bottles and put some dirt in them. Germinated some seeds and planted them. Hope to learn a lot.

Your 1L bottles have holes in the bottom for draining? Also congrats ! its a big investment for better stuff but its worth it. Whats your temp and humidity?

Thanks for getting back. Humidity is about 85% and the temp is 75°. This is an inside grow which I'm sure you already know.

It would be better if you can lower the humidity to around 70% and gradually lower from there as they grow. We’ll see how that soil works but I suspect you may develop issues. No where to get good commercial soil?

I just put the seeds in the soil today. Had about a quarter inch root on the seed after germination. After reading today I used Miracle-Gro and I read that is terrible soil. I get paid in a couple days so I'll go out and get some better soil and some better pots. Far as the lighting goes I think it'll be okay. I have plenty of seeds so I can germinate more if need be.

I’d double check that humidity reading. Probably not that high in a living space unless you are maybe equatorial?

I don't really have any way to check humidity inside. I live in the Denver area and it's snowing pretty good right now. When I check my weather app it says it's 83% outside but probably only 60% inside. Just a guess. You didn't mention anything about miracle grow is that bad stuff. I didn't read about soil until after the fact. Everybody says you can grow in it but it makes your bud taste like shit. Just wondering what you use. Thanks!

Thanks for getting back. I want to try and do this right the first time so I'm going to need all the help I can get. I've grown plenty outside and had great success. But it's winter in Colorado and I don't have much else to do when I'm inside so I thought I'd give it a try. I'm going to try and grow mini plants cuz I don't have much space. I've got a good exhaust set up when it comes to that. I've got a little fan to blow them around. And most of all I've got an open mind and always believe you can learn from those that no.

I live in Colorado as well and guarantee your humidity is much lower. Co is very dry and weather changes will make your humidity swing. A humidifier will probably be needed. I suggest Facebook market place for picking up used humidifier and a lot of times you can find amazing used grow equipment around Denver. Just a thought for ya, I know the struggles of budget grow. Before you know it your addicted to growing and buying 600$ lights lol.
