Come on now dude, how many likes have I dropped on your thread? I was thinking about that before I got it :eyepiece: Without a doubt thinking ahead to being able to flip in there too. Staggered harvest or breeding. Idk, gotta have fun with it right?

I'm not suggesting you didn't know about that benefit. Sorry if I came across that way.

Rather I was curious if you were considering it as an option for you?

Some people understand the benefits but it doesn't fit in their specific plan.

I wish I had room for a 4 footer.
Those things are way more efficient than my 2 footer.

@jumpincactus started a thread about that. I don't see the real advantage as the "old way" works just fime

That was a really cool video! There is a cloning nursery around my parts that also messes around with plant tissue culture. I believe he said the jelly like substance is called agar. I think plant tissue culture is so cool!

I wonder if it's the same stuff that gel2root uses

hahahaha @rmoltis my 4ft t5 set up is only 4 bulbs:cry: but it fits my nursery section perfectly. I run a mixed spectrum. @incogneato the power of your t5 set up is truly impressive. I bet rmoltis would love to grow a beast under it! That fixture is so cool.

Ya I feel like it's not the best method for smaller growers like us, but for a huge facility I'd bet it saves them some money in some form or fashion.

I need the sarcasm font for everything I write. I knew where you were coming from broseph lol. But yea I plan on bugging you for the info I need when the time arises because nobody does their homework like you. Right now it has the 54w 6400k agromax bulbs in there. I really like the fixture, can't wait to see what I can do. It should be more efficient than my 600w mh correct?

Yes to all of this^

I wish to grow a beast in my main chamber one day under my 12 bulb t5. It should help keep temps down in the summer.

Especially seeing first hand what they can do. My perspective on them has changed.

So the difference between 600 w mh and your 12 bulb t5.

600 watt mh puts out 55k lumens.
Draws a little extra from the ballast running let's say 645 watts estimate

It's light is emitted from a central point so many areas of the canopy aren't well penetrated without light mover. Just think of a cone shape light projection from the center of the bulb.

The spectrum is only 1 type blue.
But emitt good uv light. Canopy penetration is good but uneven.

Your t5 puts out approx 60k lumens and runs around 650 watts

Most ideal height above canopy for maximum light output reaching the canopy is "2-4" depending which one doesn't burn them lol. For my 8 bulb it was "1-"1.5 toasted them.

Can run mixed spectrum.

The multiple bulbs in varying locations allows the light to better penetrate the canopy at many angles for coverage but not depth

Along with making a super consistent light output along the whole width×length of the fixture.
Think of a solid block of light coming down.

The t5's emitt a majority of their light in the par spectrum so plants respond very healthily to it. Along with good expression of traits I noticed.

One of the best options is the ability to brighten or dim the lights by turning banks on or off.

They both have their pro's and con's.
Like any light fixture.

Thanks for the kind words

It's like construction. Takes hiring 100 guys to find that 1 keeper.

I hope in time I can prove myself to be " a keeper" :)

Yes it is! Found it by googling a few things and started lurking for almost a year and finally just signed up. I didn't think I was gonna spend so much time on here as I've never been a forum type of guy but I'm glad I did! My first grow would have been a mess without you guys

I've seen the other cannabis forums and they are not that great.

This forum definitely is the best.

Forums just always seemed more intimate. I like how even right now when my friends are asleep. I can still hang out here and chat with the farm fam.

Also was not expecting this. I expressed to logic explicitly that i was not by any stretch of the imagination any sort of expert grower. Just going to focus on helping the site however I can. I do love it here. And am happy at the opportunity. Big congrats to everyone else whom i feel are far more deserved than me. None the less I'll be attempting to help in my own way.
