in the bottom of the bucket i have 2 holes with connectors to hook the outside lines,,, Well on the inside is a lil nipple sticking in. You hook a lil 4 inch piece of blue hose to it, then an elbow, and pumping column next

Sat i will put the float valve in and plumb it to the reservoir.. Im also gonna change out my 25 gal tote reservoir for a 80 gal super heavy duty trash can.... Thats enough to handle flushing both systems, and auto topping off for several days...

Man brother, i promise, you build a 4 bucket system with a control bucket, and get a continueos monitor and you will be flying high! A chiller would be your only other thing you would want to add some day. Ive been using this system all year without one, but ive been using hydrogaurd to prevent pythium...
You could build a 4 bucket system for $60, and the price of air pump.. Another $20 - 30

So that is pretty easy eh? If you cant follow that tutorial then maybe rdwc isnt for you... kidding lol...
If you have any questions, i will be more than happy to answer them... Pm me if you feel more comfortable that way...
NOT YOU BOBBY BUSHAY!

Now lets see some ppl build some systems... Technically you could just use 2 buckets, 1 for grow bucket and 1 control bucket... You can add up to 12 grow buckets with just 1 controller bucket...
Just to be clear, the control bucket is exactly the same as a grow bucket, EXCEPT we put the pumping column in there, (thats what recirculates the system).. This will also be where you add nutes/ph/chems, and where you check your ph/ec/temp..... If you got a continuous meter, then you always know what your system is...
Now you guys seen my autos! That is from dwc yes, but also because i can control the nute levels and ph of my fluid with awesome precision. And it just gets better as you learn the system, and your strains requirements... So who is gonna make the leap to rdwc? I will help you every day thru your first grow, my only request is that you listen, and that you dont want to add 40 different chems on your first grow... keep it simple is an understatement...

I'm in for sure

Sounds good Ron,,, i will assist you thru your first grow when ever you need. And if i cant answer your questions, my teacher most likely can, and if we both cant, then you can bet everybody on this thread will google till we get the answer... That just the way this crew is wired... welcome, as you have been around for a sec, and getting a system up and running is the best way to be involved... Iv got 2 ppl that i help thru pm, that isnt part of our thread.. lol one ive been helping for a few weeks and i just realized he has 24 buckets, and 6 de hps! Dude has about 6k in equipment, and he trust me !!!! That kinda made me nervous for a min, then i realized as i have said before, this is just a machine and u got certain parameters to meet or stay with in, and it takes a lot of the problems out of it...
For instance, i dont really know too much about deficiency, since i dont see them in the system, and when ive had them in coco, it was user error, or lazziness :(

So this set up is for 3 plant buckets and 1 control bucket? Would a bigger than 5gal bucket be better for a control bucket?

Well it can be bigger, it doesnt really make a difference. Well in 1 regaurd, it does. The more water you have in a system, the easier it is to control ph for longer durations.
But 5 gal buckets are cheap, i paid 2.47 per bucket. Do you have something already that you have in mind to use?
