it floods enough times a day that it is basically NFT

NFT is super easy to build

some vinyl fencing and a few flood and drain components
a pump
a drip converter
and some 1/2" and 1/4" vinyl tubing

could be anything....as you cant really predict what is going on in soil.....especially with a 1 harvest crop
it isnt like you are gonna amend it for next season

that is why I stick to the Salts for indoor
organic compost and worm castings when inground
even with outdoor potted plants I run coco with salts....easy to keep perfect
but looks like Iron/Ca/Magnesium/Zinc/
and maybe some others

did you inoculate your roots
also I would be feeding worm tea like twice a week
and water when the pot gets light but before the plant droops out

I threw some insect frass when I transplanted last. I hit em with some cappys tea (Foliar/root) dilute 1/2 five days ago or so. Is it deficiency or excess?

And the weird thing is i literally just watered and it seems something is up because they were bone dry completely but when I watered it was like it just ran right through it. It didn't seem to saturate if that makes sense. What would that mean?

that means that it is literally bone dry

in that case you want to slowly water in incriments
so basically slowly pour in 8oz
wait 10 min and pour another 8
until you finally havea little running out the bottom
