If that's what he was driving at, then I missed it. What you're saying is on point, of course. I'd even venture so far as to say that there isn't much point to a 30% hydroton / 70% coco mix, from a big picture perspective.

I'm about 50-50. I want to kick it up to 70-30/80-20. Wondering if that's possible hand watering once or twice a day. A couple or few months from upgrading to automated watering monetarily. Peace.

Now I understand your question! I'd stick with what you got, because the 80/20 won't hold enough moisture to last that long.
